So as you all probably know, this is for finding an In-Form player in a pack. This achievement is extremely luck based, but there are a few things you can do to increase your odds.

1. Coins

You are going to need plenty of coins to get this achievement. In this years FIFA, I have found that making coins is actually a lot easier than it has been in the past. There is a lot of money to be made in seasons mode, so I suggest for everyone to play that the most out of any other kind of tournament. (The prize for getting relegated in most divisions is higher than the 2,000 coins you get from winning the gold cup. You get 10,000 coins for winning the division 2 title!).

Trading is also a very good way to make money. Scan the market for deals and try to buy players for much cheaper than they are worth. Then turn around and sell them for profit.
Pick any player, input his information into the auction search, and set the maximum buy now to a few thousand below what he is actually worth. This is mostly based on luck, but in can make you some serious coins.

2. Buying the packs

There are plenty of different ways you can go about this. You definitely need to stick to opening the premium packs though. The odds of finding an In-Form in a non-premium pack are extremely low.
For this achievement, I would recommend opening silver or bronze premium packs. They are far cheaper than the gold premium packs, and while the odds of finding an IF might be slightly lower due to the fact that there are usually more gold in-form players, the difference in price makes up for it. (I have opened over 50 premium gold packs to no result). If you are truly only interested in this achievement and don't care one bit about Ultimate Team, I would recommend going with the bronze premium packs. You are going to be loaded with a lot of useless players by the time you find your in-form, but this will give you more chances of finding one than any other method.
Of course if you have the funds, using microsoft points can be a very effective way of going about this achievement. It can also make you quite a few coins, seeing as how every pack you open with MSP will result in pure profit. Keep in mind that you can not open bronze packs with MSP.

3. Happy Hours
As I am writing this, there has yet to be a happy hour for FIFA 13. A happy hour is an hour where the odds of finding an in-form player are higher. As I said, there has currently been no news about happy hours, but I can promise you that there will be soon enough. To get up to date news on happy hours, I would recommend following @UltimateTeamUK ( https://twitter.com/UltimateTeamUK ). I have my mobile notifications on for all of their tweets so I am ready to pounce when there is news of a happy hour.

This achievement can NOT be obtained by buying an in-form player on the market, you MUST find one in a pack.

Important note: If you ever get a season ticket pack or a pre order pack, NEVER open it on the web app! If you happen to get an in-form in a pack that you opened on the web app, you will NOT GET THE ACHIEVEMENT! This would be devastating, so be sure to remain patient! So do not buy or open packs on the web app. Only open packs on Xbox.

If anybody has any questions or wants any help with this achievement, please let me know. This achievement is a real SOB and I will be struggling right there with you to get it.

This guide is intended not as competition to the other guides but as a supplement to throw hard numbers at the issue. The below numbers represent the percent chance you have of pulling any one particular card (in this case an in-form card) from each coin spent. This is an important distinction from a "per-pack opened" odds as packs cost variable amounts of coin. Also, the odds change each week depending on the number of each quality available in the TOTW. To determine which pack will provide the highest odds of pulling an IF card for your coins spent multiple the below numbers by the number of equivalent quality players available in the TOTW (including subs and reserves).

Bronze: 0.0000762% chance/coin spent
Silver: 0.0000158% chance/coin spent
Gold: 0.0000286% chance/coin spent

In case no one has mentioned it I recommend following http://www.ultimateteam.co.uk/ on twitter and setting a mobile alert for when they tweet. They announce all happy hours, which are the best way to get an IF player.

Math Proof:
Bronze:
105 pages. x50 each page.
5250 total players
1/5250
1.9047 x10^-4
.00019047
.019047% ~ chance of pulling any one particular player
.057141% ~ chance assuming three opportunities per pack
.00057141 chance/750 coins spent
.00000076188 chance/coin spent
.0000762% chance/coin spent

Silver:
101 pages x 50 each page.
5050 total players
1/5050
.00019802
.019802% ~ chance of pulling any one particular player
.059406% ~ chance assuming three opportunities per pack
.00059406 chance/3750 coins spent
.000000158416 chance/coin spent
.0000158% chance/coin spent

Gold:
28 pages x 50 each page.
1400 total players
1/1400
.00071429
.071429% ~ chance of pulling any one particular player
.214287% ~ chance assuming three opportunities per pack
.00214287 chance/7500 coins spent
.000000285716 chance/coin spent
.0000286% chance/coin spent

Assumptions:
3 opportunities (players) per pack opened
Contents of the packs cannot be predetermined nor controlled
Only rare packs are purchased.
Players in packs will only be of that packs quality.
TOTW players are all equally weighted.

Source:
FUT Head database. Tried to use UltimateDB, however you cannot view all of the players in a single quality. If someone can provide a data dump for all the FUT player cards this could be more accurate.

Commentary:
The only variable in this is the number of players of quality in the TOTW. I have opened at least 200 Silver packs, 100 Gold Packs, and 250-300 Bronze packs and have not found a single IF player to finish this achievement off. Lately I've been opening solely Silver packs, which you can often break even on if you auction everything off, however the results of these statistics clearly show that unless the majority of the TOTW is silver, these provide the worst odds. Gold will almost always provide the best odds, as that is what the greatest number of the TOTW players are and where the least competition is. Only two bronze players in the TOTW will actually outweigh the chance for any other quality, however you will need to open many, many packs, and making your money back will be a slow process. If you are a stats person and see a mistake in my math please help me out! Good luck.

HELP: For example this week (11/7/2012) has 11 Golds, 5 Silvers and 2 Bronze players. So the odds would be .0003146%, .000079% and .0001524% respectively with Gold have the greatest chance per coin spent.

EDIT: 7/11/13 Robhill says that he has convinced EA to put the informs back up permanently, and also put up premium player packs to increase chances of getting one! Therefore the achievement is now obtainable once again! People who want the achievement should use their coins to buy these special high chance packs for the best chance of the achievement.
One great way to boost your coin total is to play online seasons and try to get yourself promoted from division two (10000 coin prize), then get relegated from division one and repeat. This can earn you a lot of coins with which to buy packs.

ORIGINAL SOLUTION:

Unfortunately, as Fifa 14 has now been released, no more team of the week players will be available in packs, meaning that this achievement is no longer obtainable. This is because the team of the week is now being released weekly on Fifa 14.

This is now a discontinued achievement.

The situation is different to on Fifa 12, because in that game players transferred in January counted towards the achievement, but this is not the case in Fifa 13, the player must be an actual team of the week (or other) in-form to unlock the achievement.

More achievements on this game may soon become discontinued, so everyone should get them whilst they can, these may include: matchday games, games of the week, a live fixture, complete an EASFC challenge and several more.

Hope I cleared up some of the questions you might have regarding this achievement.

Note: There has been some word from certain community members about asking EA for a new team of the week to be released. Check the forums on this site for possible information about this
