In the Tiger Challenge, score a gold medal on every event. Some of these challenges are EXTREMELY difficult and take a lot of patience and persistence.
A few of the toughest challenges, and my solutions, follow:
Cog Hill CC from the sand (connects upper right to lower right cluster): Typically, use a 3 iron, about 115% power (boost). Aim safely -- you want to make sure you're on the green, to give yourself a chance to put. You have to clear each hole in 2 shots to win the gold.
Cog Hill CC from the trees (upper right of the challenge map, connects to the center cluster): First hole, use a pitch shot, tilt the club face all the way forward, hit at about 80%. Second hole, use a punch shot, select one club higher, tilt the club face all the way forward, hit at about 60%. Third hole, use a punch shot, 3 wood, tilt the club face back slightly, hit at about 90%. You have to clear each hole in 2 shots to win the gold.
Vijay: On the first hole, only play if you get winds that are around 15mph, either to the left, to the right, or a tailwind. Do not bother with 30mph winds or any headwinds. You'll need a headwind to be competitive on the long par 3 (4th hole?). Vijay is a complete witch at making birdies; you won't lose a lot of holes, but you'll struggle to win holes. Try to get a good start with an eagle on the first hole, but if you can't, don't sweat it. You need to win 4 of the first 6 holes, losing none, to get the gold.
Furyk: As with most one ball challenges, but especially with Furyk, try to put him on the green as far from the hole as possible (15+ yards). He will usually putt the ball into the circle, almost never making the shot (or even trying), giving you a chance to win the hole. On your early shots, I recommend hitting into the sand every time, and typically the closest sand you can find that is within the circle. (Every time I tried to get cute and hit it to the sand near the green, he would chip onto the fringe and I would be left with a green-only circle and a very difficult hole-out attempt.) Note: You have to win the first FIVE holes in a row to get this gold. The stated goal is "4 UP", but if you win the first 4, you will be 4 UP with 4 to go, and a loss on the next hole makes the gold impossible. A loss earlier makes 4 UP impossible as well.
5 strokes from the sand (bottom cluster): Hit your shots at about 90%. Observe the break on the greens, and adjust your pitches accordingly. You shouldn't need to do too much aiming or mess around with the club face angle. This one isn't hard, but it takes a bit of luck to get it to drop/roll just right. You have to hole out one of the shots from the sand to win this gold. |

| I've just got this achievement here is the ones that i had a problem with TPC BOSTON :1st hole 3 iron 100% plenty of back spin :: 2nd hole :3 iron 88%/100% depending on wind :: 3rd hole:9 iron 100% or pw into the wind sw with wind behind you 100% on any :: The next one i had problems with was of course COG HILL CC: the second hole i kept hit the branch leading to the green so i choose a 9 iron punch shot at 60%(have a look at the top guide for a great way for the 1st and 3rd holes on cog hill cc) The next one that annoyed me was putting downhill was WESTCHESTER CC: the first hole is hit 40% the second 60% the third 45% the 5th hole 60% each hole has a slight adjustment to the right or left of the putting line :: Hope this helps if your stuck on any of these challenges GOOD LUCK!!!! |
