This achievement is unlocked by purchasing all available upgrades on all 4 weapons, all spells, and health and magic bar upgrades. The easiest way to get this with the least grinding, and get most of the other achievements in the game along the way, is to do the following:

1) Play through the game on Easy difficulty
2) Play through the game on Normal difficulty
3) Play through the game on Hard difficulty
(There is no benefit to playing first at higher difficulties because the difficulty achievements are NOT stackable)
4) Start a new game on hard difficulty and play through Level 1, then Retire from the game. Start another new game on Hard difficulty and grind Level 1 again. You should get 350 upgrade points every time for an S ranking. Repeat until you have enough points to complete all upgrades.

By the time you finish with this you should also unlock 6 achievements for Stage Completion, 3 for Difficulty Completions, 1 for All Stages Cleared and probably 1 for 15 Hours Played. Now you are ready to take on the last two achievements for Chaos and Hell difficulties.

The first 3 difficulties are easily beatable without full upgrades. You will definitely want to have full upgrades for the last two difficulties though, so good luck!

I grinded on hard level 1st and got 350 points. When I needed about 100 left I moved on to Chaos and got 550 points and it took me only 18 minutes. I recommend grinding on Chaos. It's not that hard. Just keep repeating element shot with the normal gun on the demons and they should catch fire and drop pretty fast.

This is the order I did my upgrades but feel free to change depending on your gamestyle:

I focused on a balance on
1) health-magic-element shot-normal gun upgrades at first.
2) spear rose-cannon gun-willpower-ravens panic. (The last one is very handy for using on groups of demons)
3)magic wall-sacrifice-shotgun-gatlin gun (I hardly ever used the last two gun forms)

Hope this will work and help you get on your way to 1000GS.

Thanks Weisguy9's solution for the good start. I found out that it could be better and save time on the grinding.

The other two guides are great if you want to grind this out, but if you plan on going for the full 1000/1000 on this game, you won't need to grind at all.

By the time you finish the first three difficulties, you will have enough points to upgrade the important skills (health / mana / weapons / Raven's Panic) in order to journey into the harder difficulties, and by the time you finish your last playthrough, you will have more than enough points to upgrade everything and get this achievement.

Of course, if that 1GS for finishing the game on the hardest difficulty isn't worth it to you, check out those other guides.
