This weapon is obtained through normal story progression and can’t be missed.

This is where you obtain the High Power Shotgun DMC’s - Revenant –

Obtained in Mission 12 Under Siege:
Follow Kat as she makes the red circles near the main door. Pull them down as soon as you can to stop the SWAT. Go back to the first circle now and pull it when she completes it. Keep following Kat and watching the scenes. A SWAT member will find her at one point but you can pull a rack of equipment down on him. Keep following Kat and she'll lead you to Virgil... eventually. Just be a bit patient and soon you'll see Vergil is in Limbo with you and a Butcher. There will be a few waves of enemies but once they are all dead the center floor will disappear and waves of Demonic Shards will show up. Blow them all to bits. Once you've killed them Vergil will throw you a new Firearm - The Revenant - !

The Revenant is a hunting shotgun with a sawn-off bore. It has no stock, only a simple grip, with an engraved frame underlining the barrel. The shotgun offers ranged options like all firearms, although different from the others. While it lacks the speed of Dante's twin pistols, it makes up for it with more devastatingly powerful shots. Instead of its rounds being used to attack enemies from far away, and keeping them juggled in the air, Revenant's shots spread out more, hitting multiple opponents in front of Dante, blasting them backwards and interrupting their attacks. When Revenant is used against enemies caught in midair, its blast will actually pop the enemy higher, making it a great firearm choice for those looking to achieve a higher degree of aerial combat. Revenant is also particularly useful for dealing with Demonic Shards and flying enemies' wings like Harpies, both of which can be destroyed with one blast from the scattergun. Just be sure you're in range for the weapon to deal damage first

As a human weapon, the Revenant requires no shifting to Angel or Demon mode to draw the weapon. As a firearm, it can be swapped out on-the-fly by pressing Up on the Directional Pad

Here is the upgrade information as well:

Shoot: A powerful buckshot with a wide spread. Delivers high damage at close range
Level 1: Normal Damage
Level 2: Increased Damage

Charged Shot: Powers up a shot into a demonic bomb. When released, the bomb sticks to enemies and explodes shortly after
Level 1: Normal Damage
Level 2: Increased area of effect

Fireworks: Flip the shotgun around with style and flare, shooting 3 times at enemies surrounding Dante
Level 1: Normal Damage
Level 2: Increased Damage

Press X to shoot, Press X and hold to fire the Charged Shot, and press X+A to perform the upgraded shot Fireworks.

Hope that helps!

Fun Fact: A "Revenant" is a visible ghost or animated corpse that has returned to terrorize the living.
