How to unlock the Career Mogul achievement

I am afraid to say that this achievement is hard to get, however one thing that the other solutions don't mention is a cheat to get unlimited boost.

This cheat is Left, Up, Left, Down, Left, Down, Right, X (using the D-pad)
N.B. you must enter this and any other cheats in the menu.

Before you ask, no, this has no effect on any of the achievements meaning it will unlock anyway, so too does the reward card.

Essentially this walkthrough will assume that you are using the unlimited nitrous cheat. I would start the career with the muscle car, play through winning races, using Samson to get an extra $200 every win (every little help). DO NOT BUY ANY UPGRADES EXCEPT NITROUS.

As soon as possible buy nitrous and upgrade when possible. When tuning the nitrous, fill the bar on the velocity side (if using the cheat), this will increase speeds dramatically, and of course will last for as long as you hold the boost button.

Win races until you unlock the boss race, now save before you start the boss battle, you will see why in a second.

Win this and you will get the option of picking 2 of 4 secret cards; 1 of which will be the pink slip to the bosses car. If you do not get this pink slip, i would recommend you immediately reset your xbox and restart from where you left off, however this is not always necessary, it is possible to win the next area of the nfs world with the first car, as long as you are using the cheat.

If however you do get the pink slip, i would recommend using Angie's car (with the nitrous cheat) as it is faster. Continue to use the pink slip cars that you unlock from other bosses too.

After you have beaten Angie, Simon will become available to use as a wingman and he adds 10% to your total winnings. Now also sell your old car for extra cash.

The rest is simple, just keep playing through using the bosses cars (try to get Kenji's and Wolf's pink slip as well). Just keep using the nitrous cheat and you should get it about half way through the stacked deck region (last 1/4 of the game).

Any cars you unlock and subsequently don't use as you have a better one, sell for extra cash.

    some other useful cheats include:

infinite speedbreaker: Down, Right, Right, Left, Right, Up, Down, X
infinite Crew Charge: Down, Up, Up, Right, Left, Left, Right, X
earn an extra $10,000 in career: Down, Up, Left, Down, Right, Up, X, B (can only be used once)

This achievement is easier than most people say, if you use the cheat, and remember only to buy nitrous, that should be the only thing that you buy through out the whole career.

As soon as you get your $1,000,000, in celebration you should buy your favorite car (mine being the corvette Z06) and upgrade it to the max.

    Happy hunting ;)

GAM3RJETGood solution - I wasn't sure how to sell the cars at first though. Just in case, you can sell the cars at the safe house with the X button.

EDGiSUPRAB0IIf you're having problems with the speedtraps using a car that tops out at around 160ish mph, i found a solution, the game doesn't tell you this but you can modify your crewmates cars for free, this includes performance mods, max em out and watch them go ballistic on the competition

I found this solution while searching online. I take no credit for it. All credit goes to Cheat Code Central.

**This solution requires the Supreme Car Bundle DLC which is no longer available on the marketplace. Hopefully it's in your download history or you can copy it from a friend.

"Download the free Supreme Car Bundle from Xbox Live Marketplace. Then, enter Career mode and go to the car lot. Buy as many DB9 Aston-Martins for free, then save and exit out of the game into the dashboard. Go to the hard drive or the memory card that you used to save the Supreme Car Bundle and delete the tier 2 base car bundle. When you now load the game, you can sell the DB9 for $100,000. Repeat this as many times as desired."

Once my cash was over $1,000,000 I went back into free roam mode which triggered an auto-save and the achievement unlocked.

    UPDATE: Sept 23, 2013

A post by Hawaiian on xbox360achievements (http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/showthread.php?t=31...) suggests that the trick still works with a few 80 MSP ($1.00 USD) cars.

    2004 Porsche Carrera GT

    2004 Lamborghini Gallardo

    UPDATE : Oct 21, 2015

Excellent advice from xX Dev1anc3 Xx:
"Just a heads up for anyone having an issue where the DLC cars that you purchase aren't showing up after you delete the DLC from your hard drive. I had the same issue, and found out that the car you purchase from the storefront MUST BE UNLOCKED in your career, otherwise it will disappear after you delete the DLC file, and could cause your game to freeze, and knowing this game, it may cause your save file to get corrupted. So make sure that you go through the career and unlock these cars before you try this. After I unlocked the Gallardo in career, this method worked without a hitch."

    UPDATE: Sep 21, 2023

This still works with the 1967 Shelby GT500 (the only DLC currently listed)

Vr46A13TTDoes this work with the mustang? Only car for purchase on the Xbox marketplace

Vr46A13TTI have the collectors edition but didn’t get any extra cars with it

l BlackBrian7 l@Vr46A13TT yes the Shelby GT500 works. I just bought it and used it to get the achievement. Worth about 54k per car sold and you can do 5 or 6 at a time. Get it soon because it will be removed by next July when the marketplace closes.

If like me you have completed the game and hace a bit of a way to go use the unlimited nitrous cheat found in the other solutions and do free roam challenges. You will get a 1000 credits every race rather than your 500.

To do a free roam challenge just exit to free roam from the main menu and go to a pavement. Stay still for 1-2 mins and a car will come and challenge you. Just choose the nearest checkpont and win.

I have calculated it takes about 2 mins per thousand which is still quicker than starting the career over. In all it took me about 6 hours to get 200,000 credits.
