First of all, this game is tough. Like take all your allowance tough when it was in the arcade. So do yourself a favor and set it to "Easy" in the Settings. The best strategy, like most Capcom Cabinet games is once again to push through the stage as quickly as possible. Set up auto-attack and use it regularly.

PLAYER Kiiro 4 said:'s better to play on the International version, because some bosses, like Muscular and Iron Arm, block too much and attack much faster on the US version.
Quick Tips
1. For the purple thugs, just duck and attack. Sometimes they dodge low or attack fast, so ducking and attacking hits consistently.
2. Your shield can also be turned upward or diagonal to stop projectiles from those angles, but only special foes will attack that way. Don't forget to block frequently!
3. You move faster while jumping, so jump your way through stages.
4. Achilles is the final boss battle and is not as hard as the stages leading up to him.
5. You have unlimited continues, so go to town. Checkpoints are frequent and so are your deaths.

Stage 1
Mamushi - Auto-attack low. Block his projectiles until you can get close enough.

Iron Arm - Attack high and low in a constant stream and he should go down. You can also just duck and block and wait for him to get close enough to hit. He will walk back and forth and you can land a body blow.

Stage 2 - The Craggy Cliff
Armadillon - I f***ing hate this guy! The only strategy is to hit him as far away as possible and jump over him when he rolls at you. Give him space to roll backward after you land a hit and be ready to jump over him. Each time he hits with his roll, you lose half your life. There is no defined amount of time he rolls either. It ends randomly and then he gets up and shoots fireballs at you (high or low), which you can block at least.

Goblin - Block projectiles and move in to land one hit before he jumps to the other side. You can also jump at him, but you run the risk of being hit while jumping. Patience is key.

Stage 3 - Hiding Place 1
Muscular - Move in and land a hit on the head then jump backward quickly, or jump in and hit the head then jump back out.

Trojan - Easy. Just move in, duck and hold auto-attack. Alternate high and low to take it out.

Stage 4 - Hiding Place 2

Iron Arm - Same tactics as above.

Two Mamushi - Same tactics as one with more blocking. Just watch out for the other one throwing knives at your back. Move forward and duck auto-attack to quickly dispatch one, then move to the other and repeat. You will see a lot of these, but you can just move past them.

Armadillon - Just avoid this guy. Jump over and move on!

Goblin - Same tactics as above.

Stage 5 - Hiding Place 3

Two Mamushi - Same tactics, but can move past them

Two Mamushi - Same tactics, but can move past them

Two Muscular - Move slightly to the left and attack the head when it's just in range, then jump backward to avoid the attack. repeat until it goes down Then move out to the left and use the same tactic.

Two Mamushi - Same tactics, but can move past them

Two Mamushi - Same tactics, but can move past them

Two Iron Arms - This is rough. Move to the left one, Jump in and attack the head, then duck to land more blows and attack high. If he attacks high over your head, auto-attack his legs to take him out. Hopefully he dies before the other one comes over, or you might as well give up (You should be use to dying now...). When only one remains, use solo tactics. Take your time and finish him off. You can't avoid this battle.

Stage 6 - The Final Battle
Trojan - Same tactics as before.

Achilles - jump in and attack while doing so, then duck and attack to hit him about three times (you will get hit once or twice as well). Stay ducking and block. He will attack and when you block it, that will push you back. Then rinse and repeat. Your health should stay ahead of his until you can defeat him.
