To get this achievement you'll have to beat 8 stages of this game. Unlike most other games in this collection, there are no continues. If you die, it's back to stage 1. It sounds daunting but like most retro games, practice makes perfect. Here are some tips to help with this difficult achievement.

Make sure you have your game settings set to the easiest difficulty and maximum amount of lives. Also turn up autofire to it's highest setting.

Never stop moving forward! The enemies won't ever stop spawning. If you kill one, another will take it's place so it's best to just keep on moving forward. If you wait in one area too long the enemies will start throwing lots of grenades on your position.

By moving the analog stick (or D-Pad, if you prefer) quickly back and forth, you can have a makeshift spread gun. This works well against every enemy in the game but is especially useful for taking out the rocket launcher enemies later on.

Save your grenades for the final fight in each area. At the end of every level there is a rushdown with tons of enemy soldiers. Throwing grenades at this point can help you clear out multiple enemies at once. For the most part you'll want to stay near the bottom of the screen and move left and right, throwing grenades as you go. Never stay in one spot for too long.

Grenades are important to pick up but don't go out of your way to collect them. Only grab them if they are directly in your path. If you run out of grenades, the next time you die you'll spawn with more.

Shoot the green soldier if you can. He's worth 2,000 points on his own.

Here are the strategies I used for each level.

Level 1
This level is very straightforward. At the first rock, take the left side to easily save your fellow soldier and gain an extra 2,000 points.

Be careful when going through the wall so you don't run into an unseen bullet or soldier. In the final area, try to stand in the middle of the screen as you throw grenades to kill off soldiers as they come out the door.

Level 2
Don't accidentally fall in the trenches. You'll have to navigate between them. Don't bother killing the guys in the trenches either, it's not worth it. In the final area, use the same strategy as in the first level, only stay at the bottom of the screen because enemy soldiers will come out of the caves on both sides. Remember to move back and forth and don't stop throwing grenades.

Level 3
I think this is one of the hardest levels in the game. Ignore most of the enemies and move forward until you cross the wall. You'll see some trucks moving back and forth. You have two options here. You can wait until the first truck moves to the left side of the screen, then rush up the middle or you can try to run up the left side before the truck gets there, then rush up the middle. Stay away from the sides because motorcycles will come off screen and hit you. The truck throwing grenades isn't much of a threat. You'll have to be very unlucky for it to actually hit you. If you must, you can just wait a second or two for the truck to drive away before moving forward again.

At the final area it's a good idea to use grenades and kill the two guys throwing grenades on the left and right side. It's optional, but it makes the battle a little easier.

Level 4
When you get to the runway stay on the right side, otherwise motorcycles will run you over. The level itself is actually pretty short.

At the final area it is very wise to take out at least one of the gunners inside the building, either on the left or right side. Learn where to stand so you can easily take out a gunner as you move in. The sweet spot is near the middle of the screen on either side. Ignore the two gunners on the second floor of the building. They wont hit you if you're at the bottom of the screen.

Level 5
This level is very similar to level 1. Don't walk into the water because it will kill you. At the final area you can use the small body of water as cover while you throw grenades.

Level 6
You can pretty much hold forward the entire way until you get to the trenches. Once again, carefully navigate through the trenches.

At the final area you can use the trenches as cover. Bullets won't go through them so take advantage of that and throw grenades.

Level 7
The opening building section looks daunting but it isn't very long. After the bridge you'll have trucks coming from the top of the screen trying to run you over. When you see one coming at you, move directly to the left or right to avoid it before moving forward again. If you move diagonally, you might get hit by a stray rocket that you couldn't see. The final area is similar to the one in the first level. Try to throw grenades as the enemies are coming out of the door.

Level 8
Just like level 4, this one isn't very long. When you get to the runway, there will be motorcycles coming from both sides so try to stay in the middle this time. The final area really isn't much different than the one in level 4. Take out at least one gunner on either the left or right side and victory will soon be yours.
