You don't have any control over whether or not you start as an infected player or not. Fortunately, if you start as a healthy player, any team kills will also count as infection kills. As a bonus, you have the opportunity to purchase weapons as a healthy player, so its far easier to kill your teammates. If you happen to spawn as an infected player, then go ahead and play the game normally. I can usually get between 30 and 40 infection kills every game.
EDIT: Since there have been some questions about the effectiveness of this solution and "turning on friendly fire", I'm adding some more information. First of all, there isn't an option to turn on friendly fire. It's on by default. Your teammates can take quite a bit of punishment, especially if they purchased the body armor, so they can be difficult to kill with the starting pistol. Here are the settings that I used today (July 9th, 2011) and I got six Infection Kills in a few minutes before I was killed.
Scenario: Infection Level: Urban Level Variant: Small Bot Count 15 Bot Options: Max Bot Count: 16 Bot Difficulty: Agent Bot Distribution: Fixed Bots Bot Personality: Vanilla Points Limit: Personal Round Limit: Personal Round Time Limit: Personal Advanced Options Start Money: 10,00CR
I bought a Super Dragon and immediately started firing grenades at the feet of my teammates. It usually took two or three shots to kill someone. You'll know that you've gotten credit for the kill when a message pops up in the lower right hand corner saying "You Killed a Friend".
So, in short, the method is still valid and I think it's still the quickest way to earn Infection Kills. If you voted negatively because you thought this had been patched, kindly consider changing your vote. |
