This can be one of the more annoying achievements in the game, but it's not impossible. This year's game has some changes to the recruiting which makes it a bit easier in some ways. Please note that the achievement will not pop until Signing Day in the offseason, after the final class evaluations. Also, this guide is for the achievements, not necessarily for any kind of challenge. We'll be changing settings to make this easier, since earning the #1 class can be a bit of a crapshoot. We're also doing this without resorting to spending MSP/money on the EA "helpers".

I'll start by saying (since this is the guide primarily for Dual Threat Coach) that there isn't a bone fide/absolutely positively definitively perfect way to tell you how exactly to do the recruiting. It's *very* luck-based. That's why you need to allocate points to the 5-star recruits that are the best fit (all A+ ratings). Because that's going to be rare, look at the ones where you get the most bonus points, because every week you'll gain a little more on the competition. But there simply isn't a "best way". It'll make more sense we I get to that part of the guide.

Yes, it's very annoying like that.

While you may want to go for all of the Dynasty achievements in one go, it's usually not possible because of the one for winning a title with one of the three new teams (Welcome to the Club) pretty much puts you at a major recruiting disadvantage compared with the marquee schools, even if you win the title. However, you should be able to earn these Dynasty achievements in one go:
NCAA Football 14Best Class EverThe Best Class Ever achievement in NCAA Football 14 worth 34 pointsHave the #1 ranked recruiting class in a season in single team Dynasty Mode.

Therefore, this will be a comprehensive guide to all of these achievements. For simplicity, I'll be using Alabama, since the Crimson Tide is the #1 team with default skill settings of 99 overall. (Several people have noted that playing as Alabama didn't work, but that Oklahoma worked for them the first time. Might want to try the Sooners if Bama doesn't cut it.)

First, create your coach. Nothing matters in this part except making sure that Alabama is your alma mater.

Next, go to Rules and Difficulty. Set your Coach Starting Level to 20. Set Coach Level Progression Rate to Fastest. Press RB. Set your skills to Freshman, Injuries and Fatigue off, Game Speed to Very Fast, Player Min Speed Threshold to zero. I made Quarter Length 3 minutes, since you may need to play some games.

Press RB. Turn Offsides and Clipping (since your team seems to like to block from the back) to zero. Press RB again, and set all of your sliders to 100. Press LT, and set all of the CPU sliders to 0 EXCEPT Punt Power, Punt Accuracy and Kickoff Power. You're going to want long drives in this game to get yards for your recruiting bonuses.

Back out and go to Custom Conferences. I set up the SEC as the major conference. Move the top 14 teams into the SEC. (You could do 16 as well, but it's your choice.) You'll want the top 7 in the SEC East with Alabama, and the other 7 in the SEC West. This way you'll be beating all of the quality teams in the game (and they'll beat each other) leaving you with a higher ranking through the season. The teams are:
#1 Alabama (you)
#2 Ohio State (Big Ten)
#3 Stanford (Pac-12)
#4 Texas A&M (SEC)
#5 Georgia (SEC)
#6 Oregon (Pac-12)
#7 Notre Dame (Independents)
#8 South Carolina (SEC)
#9 Clemson (ACC)
#10 Florida (SEC)
#11 Louisville (American)
#12 LSU (SEC)
#13 Oklahoma (Big 12)
#14 Florida State (ACC)

Now begin your dynasty. Choose Alabama, Head Coach. Pop! Dream Job unlocked. Immediately start putting upgrades into recruiting. 3 points into Locksmith, 3 into Scouting, 3 into The Opener, 3 into The Closer, 3 into Royal Treatment, 3 into Kitchen Sink, and 2 into Letter of Intent. You don't need points in Game Management because we're going to adjust sliders to make your team unstoppable. Go ahead and put points into your coordinators. When you exit out and save your skills, Halfway There will unlock.

As you earn points throughout the season, come back here to max out your recruiting for the Go Outside achievement.

Recruiting Setup

No, we're not done setting this up. Under Pre-Season, 2013, we're going to set up the Recruiting Board. First, we want to Create Prospects. We're going to make at least 5 of them: QB, WR, TE, HB and K. (Kickers aren't usually sought after by many teams.) Give them any name you want, but make sure that they are from Alabama. I went ahead and set their High School as Tuscaloosa as well. (If you're playing as Oklahoma, make it Norman or Oklahoma City instead.) Make them Freshman.

Pull LT. This is the long part of the setup. Max out all of your players' skills to 99. (You don't have to do ALL of them, just the ones that apply to the position, but if you're not sure, just max them all out.) When you're finished, press Start and add the player to the database.

Important! In between steps (like right now), press your RS and save your work since your Autosave is off!

After you've made your players, go into the recruiting (and skip the create screen). Now go to the Sparq 100. Click all of your 99 players, which should be at the top. Then go to Search, Minimum Caliber = 5 stars, Interest in Alabama = Top 3. Press A to search, and click on each player. Now go back and do the same for 4-star players until your 35 available slots are full. Don't worry about your team needs.

You won't need to scout players since your skill tree perk has scouted all of them. Nifty!

Season Setup

Next is the other long part. go to Team Management => Edit Roster. Max out your skills for your QB, HB, TE and 2 WRs. You can max out the rest if you like, but these are the crucial ones. You can work on your defense as well, but it isn't necessary. Exit out, RS and save.

Go to your Depth Chart and make sure that your 99 players are topping the depth chart. Also make sure that your KR and PR are not your 99 players: you'll be losing yards on your returns, and you don't want to hurt their stats.

Custom Schedule time! You'll already be playing a lot of top teams (including the preseason 2-7), but stack your schedule by adding some more. Not all of these teams will be ranked by the time you play them, but they should still be good teams. For week 5, choose #17 TCU. Change week 11 to #18 Boise State. Keep Miss State at week 12 since it's a rivalry game and there aren't any other ranked teams to play.

We're done. Start the season already!!

In Season

Every week you're going to have a certain number of recruiting points that you can spend. You're simply not going to be able to work towards all of your targeted players. That being said, some players will only be interested in Alabama, and if you see a lead after a few weeks, you can move their points to a different prospect.

Look at your Recruiting Board. Press RB once. You'll see that every player has a certain number of weekly bonus points that they'll get toward recruitment. Find a player with 3 A+ ratings. If you can get that player to visit your school while all three ratings are A+, you'll earn the Perfect Match achievement. These players also get the most weekly points, so they should be high up in your priorities. If you have any 5-star players with 3 A+ ratings, max out your weekly points on them.

Some people hold off on offering scholarships, especially since there is a skills perk for a possibility of immediately signing a player when you offer a scholarship. I'm not really sure how much the scholarship affects recruiting interest.

Also look at the players with the most interest in you and give them a good share of your points. What you want to focus on most is 5-star players. Yes, they're the hardest to recruit, but you're the #1 team. 5-star players are going to be your key to having the best class.

Once you have your board set, save using RS.

Now play/sim your first game, but make sure you win! Advance to the next week and look at your recruiting board. See how your prospects are progressing. They will eventually have a "lock out" period where if you aren't close enough to the top, you will lose your chance to recruit them. You can make up points by having them visit and allocating enough points to them. Keep winning, and that will help as well.

If you're going for the Heisman achievement, make sure you're playing enough games and getting big numbers with your players. If you get enough sacks, your defensive players may be in the running, but you probably want to focus on passing and rushing yardage.

Eventually you'll get to a point where players want to visit. Schedule their visits for as late as possible, but make sure that the prospects complement each other. For example, don't have 2 WRs during the same week, but a QB and a WR will be good together since they would work together. Having all complementary players during a visit will unlock the One to Remember achievement. Also, having a player visit on his 5th visit will unlock the Last Place Winner achievement. Having the last visit gives you the most points of any visit, so even if you're behind with that prospect, try to keep from being locked out if you're close to the top.

At some point, you're going to be locked out. Make sure to use a lock breaker (since you have that perk) with one of these players, preferably one that is a 5-star. You may have a good player that you haven't been allocating points to. Breaking a lock does two things: gives you a huge point boost, and earns you the Thief achievement.

It's all right to get through the season with very few committed players. In my run, I only had 3 by the end of the season. The key is to be leading with many players.

Keep playing/simming through. When you get to a visit week, make sure to pay attention to what the prospects want, and do them. These will give you huge point boosts. This is also where the Offsides slider will help, since you will likely have defensive players on your prospect list. Sacks are easy: place your D-line or LB (or whichever player is necessary) near the opposing QB before every snap and try to sack him. For QB/TE/WR, make sure you return kicks and lose yardage so that you can launch long bombs and score. Same for HBs, make sure you have long fields to get long runs.

At the end of the season, assuming you've won everything, you'll earn a few things: Hometown Hero and Living Legend (which actually may pop early, but should definitely pop once you win the title game). If you win the Heisman, And the Winner Is... will also unlock, but only really if you've been paying attention to your in-game stats (although it's possible to sim to a Heisman). Remember, the Heisman is awarded before the bowl games, so if you're simming for that, make sure to save before the bowls so that you can reload.

When it's time for the Coaching Carousel, you should be offered an extension. Sign it, and Let's Do It Again will pop. (This may or may not happen. You signed a new contract at the beginning, so you may have to play another season. It happened during my first, though.)

You'll have one more chance to secure players in the off-season. You'll have a lot of points (more because of the perks), and you can focus on your biggest players, and the ones that are close. Make sure to save before this so you can go back and do it again if you have to.

When you get to Signing Day, if you've gotten enough top players, you'll earn both Best Class Ever and Dual Threat Coach at the same time. You may have to advance past Signing Day, but it will pop if your class is #1.

Finally, you'll be given an opportunity to reset all of your stats. If you haven't already done so, you can take the opportunity to put all of your perks into Game Management until you can max out Clutch, and earn the Pop the Clutch achievement.

Best of luck!
