I beat Oenomaus in the first district. The easiest way to do this for me was to use dual swords and hold the left stick down and spam X. Some attacks may miss but he gets nervous enough just to block and you'll hit him with about 75% of your attacks and eventually kill him. I found this method after he had already knocked me down and I had a fifth of health and he was still at about full health without being knocked down... so it's very effective :) (My characters equipment was as follows: Weapon-Rusty Gladii, Helmet-Helm of Dolo, Torso-Rusted Iron Sementatae, Legs-Leather Fascia)

HyruleBalverineWell, once I realized that "holding down" the left stick meant to actually press it down and not just hold it in the down direction, I got this quickly.

HyruleBalverineEdit: I apparently got this on Ashur, not Oenomaus. Oenamaus is a pain!

For legendary victory I fought against Oenomaus in the first district and despite his rating far outshooting my own I still took him down!

I advise a double sword combo so you can do decent damage and maintain some good speed. He isn't a very fast warrior so lay on the pressure and you can take him down if your fast enough. But remember he can heal when he is weak so do not give him the time to do this, hit him when he is down if need be!

Video below showing my duel with him, note how he outclasses my threat and I still managed to take him down thanks to my duel swords combo. I am also going to make video's on how to take down all the other bosses. Give me the time though lol.

This achievement is unlocked the easiest in the first district you have to defeat a legendary fighter.
The legendary fighter for the first district called (extremus) is Oenomaus and i would suggest using a duel daggers and just keep walking towards him and just keep mashing the X button

Dual daggers is the way to go! I kicked his ass first try with a 100 ranked dual dagger guy.....make sure in every glad yup equip that you buy things that boost weapon speed!!!

weapon speed is a must as it allows you to land blows before the opponent can....it will also stop an oppenents attack mid attack if you land first.....hence the speed boost importance.

hugo3104As Vermillion wrote (next tip) use the perk "Shield breaker" against Oenomaus ... +15% damage and 5% speed ... i didn't spam X but Y ..... the Y combo give more damages .... i won against Oenomaus very easily at the first try ...

This solution involves Oenomaus since he will likely be the first legend you come across in the game unless you change cities as soon as you can.

I beat him by taking my dual swords guy and unequipping his swords and fighting Oenomaus unarmed. Just spam light punch and stay on top of him. It's almost like he didn't know what to do. He hit me once.

EDIT: It's worth noting that my dual sword guy had a blue name and had 3 perks.
    - Thick Skull (+10 defense),
-Blade Hunter (Gain +15% Damage, +5% Move Speed, +7% Damage Reduction, and +10% Defense Recovery when facing sword wielding foes).
    - Frenzy of the Crowd (Gain +10% Damage, +2% Attack Speed, and +5% Move Speed when you earn high favor with the crowd)

These played a large factor in damage dealt yet I think my success was mostly due to fighting him unarmed.

This is actually not as hard as you might think. Pick up a dagger gladiator and upgrade his gear till he's at least around rating 65 or so. One of the missions in the Extremus district that you must complete to face Oenomaus will offer up the perk "Shield Breaker". Make sure to equip this skill! It gives you +15% damage, +5% Move Speed, +7% Damage Reduction and +10% Defense Recovery when facing Shield wielding foes. After getting this perk you will be more than ready for Oenomaus himself. A good strategy is to stalk him around with the (X) combo until he gets knocked down then backing away. He tends to do a upward slice with his sword when he's grounded and can chain it with a combo. Simply be mindful of backing off when he falls and your normal combo will be far too speedy for him to mount any offense.

I fought the first Gladiator at level 5 Oenomaus as a dual dagger. I had no upgrades, I spammed X pretty much the whole match and took him down.
