How to unlock the Audio Enthusiast achievement

    There are 17 Audio Diaries to be found in total. If you see '!!! - ****' between Diary locations, it identifies a point-of-no-return and you should make sure you have all diaries before continuing on. However, you don't have to worry about grabbing them all in one run; if you miss one, reload the chapter it's located in from the 'Play Add-On Content' menu. As soon as you grab the last one you need to complete the set, the achievement will pop.

    I'm listing these in the order I found them, but if you're exploring, you won't have too much trouble. I've written this guide to be as spoiler free as possible, and restructured it to fit with MAKA91's video guide.

    #1: 'Doing Well By Doing Good' - Market Square, Room 907
    Before you enter the room with the Little Sister parade, where the two people are talking about what's under the Big Daddy suits, there's a room to the right with 3 guys in it, one fixing an elevator. The Diary is behind the counter.

    #2: 'Observation #33' - High Street, Maison Vosges
    On the very top floor of High Street, you'll find a clothes shop called Maison Vosges. You'll find the Diary in the right-hand dressing room at the back of the shop.

    #3: 'The Goddamn People' - High Street, The Watched Clock
    Before you enter Cohen's to meet Elizabeth's contact, go for a wander in the opposite direction. There's an open door next to The Golden Rule Jewellers leading to a lobby with two doors, one locked and labelled 'Maintenance'. Through the other door, you'll find The Watched Clock Diner. Go into the kitchens and you'll find the Diary on one of the benches.

    #4: 'Offer of Employment' - High Street, Maintenance
    After picking up AD#3, you'll be told you've found a code (2076). This will unlock Maintenance. Inside on the desk is the Diary.

    !!! - Enter Cohen's

    #5: 'Left Behind' - Menswear
    Once you've lockpicked your way into a room full of Splicers and have to head upstairs to the Ice Rink, you'll want to head up the left-hand staircase. Once on the first landing, turn left and you'll see a large red duct. Crouch through it, nail the Splicer before he sees you and grab the Diary. Also make sure to grab the Lockpick to the right. There's another lockpick in the Dressing Rooms to the left as you exit the duct, behind a Turret.

    #6: 'The Old Bear' - Menswear, The Daily Bread
    Once you've got the lockpicks and AD#5, head back downstairs and have Elizabeth open The Daily Bread (one lockpick is needed). Turn the first corner and look behind the bar counter. The Diary is on the top shelf on the far right. Make sure to turn around and nab the Infusion on the shelf, as well as another Turret and a piece of Gear downstairs.

    #7: 'Critics' - Menswear, Haberdashery
    Having dealt with all the Splicers upstairs, you'll notice a Haberdashery. Inside, in one of the dressing rooms at the back, you'll find a Turret guarding this Diary.

    #8: 'Message In A Bottle' - Ladieswear, Jewellers
    After arriving on Floor 2, head directly across the balcony, ignoring the SkyLine, into Ladieswear. You'll see a Jewellers on the right. At the back of the store, there is a locked door that requires 3 lockpicks. The Diary is inside this room on the desk. Make sure to grab the lockpick on the shelf behind you to your left (while looking at the Diary) and the Infusion directly in front of you as you leave the room.

    #9: 'Insufficient Postage' - Ladieswear, Shoes
    After picking up AD#8, dealing with the Splicers and picking the hairpin lock to get out of the Jewellers, head up the stairs to the right and into Shoes. At the back left of the shop, there's a locked door. Open it with the code from AD#8 (0928) and head inside. The Diary is in the back room, guarded by a Turret and a Splicer.

    #10: 'False Advertising' - The Pavilion Floor 3, Plasmids
    Once you SkyLine your way to Floor 3, head to the left-hand side of the balcony and have Elizabeth lockpick into Plasmids. In the room adjacent to the room with Shock Jockey in it (a plasmid you will need to access AD#11), there is a large safe just sitting on the floor. It requires 3 lockpicks to open and contains this Diary and an Infusion.

    #11: 'A Gift From Fontaine' - Rapture On Ice, Jack Frost Village
    You'll eventually come to a large door on Floor 3 labelled 'Jack Frost Village'. Inside, you'll see 'Jack Frost Souvenirs'. Head around the back of the souvenir shop, use Shock Jockey to get the door open and retrieve this Diary, which is sitting on the floor right in front of you.

    #12: 'Ghost In The Machine' - The Pavilion Floor 1, Pret-a-Porter
    Once you've got Old Man Winter, head back down to the bottom floor. As you come out of the stairs (or the elevator if you Shock Jockey'd the busted one on The Pavilion Floor 2; doing so gives you a piece of Gear and some cash when you get out of the elevator), head straight across to the other side to a shop called Pret-a-Porter. Freeze the spraying water with Old Man Winter to create a bridge, deal with the Splicers and Turret, then head to the back of the shop. The first accessible dressing room has both the Diary and a Shotgun in it. The Diary is behind the couch and easily missed. Don't forget the Infusion in the other dressing room!

    !!! - Bathysphere to Homewares

    #13: 'Oven Of The Future' - Homewares, Electronics
    As soon as you enter Electronics, head down the stairs to the elevator shaft in the middle of the room. The Diary is inside.

    #14: 'The Kiss' - Homewares, Bistro
    Head up the stairs to the left and into the Bistro. Downstairs, you'll see a locked door, which AD#13 gives you the code for, allowing you to grab a new weapon to the Bioshock franchise! On the counter in front of said door is the Diary.

    #15: 'Observation #17' - Homewares, Customer Service
    As you enter Customer Service, you'll see a reception desk. Behind the desk is a room. On the desk in this room is the Diary. Very easy.

    #16: 'A Little Help' - Homewares, Bridal
    After picking up AD#15, head out the door and to the left. You'll see two huge signs, one saying 'Toys' and the other 'Bridal'. Head over to the Bridal door and have Elizabeth pick it for one lockpick. The Diary is behind the counter in the room with the Splicer.

    #17: 'Observation #22' - Appliances, Staff Only
    After the big fight in Appliances and you've passed through the door Elizabeth had to unlock from the other side while you got your butt shot off, make a left. Use Old Man Winter to freeze the water, cross over and head left into the office at the back. The final Diary is on the desk.

    Blue RadiumSome potentially relevant info - I picked up the game after about 7 years of not completing it. Transferred saves to the cloud, and this game's checkpoints as saves system causes it take a long time to transfer fully. But I did it, and then got it fired up on my Series X. I had completed the DLC, but missed 1 audio diary on my playthrough years ago. For some reason, when I went back to get it, it counted as 1/17 achievement progress when the tracker popped up. So I went back to the end of the game checkpoint, re-collected the diaries, completed the final chapter. I noticed the achievement tracker popped up for some but not all - 15/17 showed, but not 16/17, for some reason. I ended up going back to 2nd checkpoint where you start getting diaries, got the first one, the one I had missed, no achievement. Decided to try grabbing a 2nd one, that I did have on completed game, and that unlocked the achievement.

    That is all to say, cloud saves/save transfers might make this achievement act funny, heads up.

    There are 17 audio dairies to collect in this DLC. They're not terribly hard to find. Where you might have trouble are the diaries behind doors that require lock picks to open. If you don't find enough lockpicks, you'll have to backtrack later.

    If you're the type to explore every nook and cranny, this shouldn't be too hard for you. Below is a complete list of audio log locations, along with locations of lock picks that you'll need for a handful of diaries.

    Don't worry too much about missing a couple. The DLC is fairly short, and you can reload previous chapters to claim any you've missed. You can check which ones you've already collected by hitting and cycling to audio logs.

    Be sure to take note of which ones you already have before reloading! When reloading chapters, any audio logs collected after that chapter reappear in the game and don't appear in your audio log history. You are still able to unlock the achievement by collecting only the ones you've missed.

    Chapter: Market Street

    1 - Doing Well By Doing Good: Look for room 907 on the right after spotting the big daddy. It's behind the counter.

    2 - Observation #33: Play until you reach Cohen's. From there, go up the stairs to the left. Look for the Maison Vosges shop right side when you reach the top. Find the diary in a dressing room near the back.

    3 - The Goddamn People: Head back to Cohen's. From there, look right and go through the door next to The Golden Rule shop. Enter The Watched Clock diner ahead. The diary is next to the waffle iron in the kitchen.

    4 - Offer of Employment: Exit the diner and go through the door on the left. You'll see a room labeled Maitenece with a code locked door. Enter 2076 to gain access to the room and the diary.

    Chapter: The Pavilion - First Floor

    5 - Left Behind: After lockpicking a door on your way to the ice rink, head up the stairs on the left. At the top you'll see a wide vent with red light coming out. Crawl inside, kill the splicer, and claim the diary.

    Lock Pick #1: You'll find this right next to the 'Left Behind' diary in the same room.

    Lock Pick #2: Get out of the vent. Spot the turret in the dressing rooms to the left. On the table next to the turret is a lock pick.

    6 - The Old Bear: This requires 1 lock pick. Head back down the stairs from the vent to The Daily Bread shop. Have Elizabeth pick the lock. Go inside and find the next diary behind the bar.

    Lock Pick #3: From the bar, head downstairs to find some splicers fixing a turret. Dispatch them all and find a lock pick in the tool box next to the turret.

    7 - Critics: After clearing the gap using your skyhook, go up the stairs and enter the Haberdashery shop. It's in the changing room on the right near the turret.

    Lock Pick #4: After reaching the pavillion, past the broken elevator, run through the area labelled Ladieswear. Up the stairs on the left, there is a counter with a lockpick on it.

    8 - Message in a Bottle: This requires 3 lock picks. Go back down the stairs after picking up lock pick #4 and go inside the Jewelry shop. After killing the enemies, you'll can find the door at the back.

    Lock Pick #5: Immediately after picking up the previous diary, turn around and pick up the lock pick on the table.

    Lock Pick #6: Exit the Jewelry store. Run up the stairs on the right and find the Shoes shop. Pick up the lock pick from the corpse.

    9 - Insufficient Postage: You'll find a coded door right next to the lock pick and corpse. Enter 0928. Inside you'll find Lock Pick #7 and this audio diary after killing the turret and splicer.

    10 - False Advertising: Inside Fontaine's Plasmids where you get the Shock Jockey plasmid, there's a safe on the floor that requires 3 lock picks. You'll find this diary inside.

    11 - A Gift From Fontaine: Head towards Jack Frost's Village. Jack Frost's Souveniers shop will be right behind the door. Use Shock Jockey on the broken door control to gain access and get the diary. There is a safe in here requiring 1 lock pick, but there is only money and alcohol inside. Better to save your lock pick for later.

    Lock Pick #8: From the last diary, proceed forwards and find the the Ice Skate Rental shop. A lock pick is in one of the rooms near the back.

    12 - Ghost in the Machine: When you get back to to the first floor after obtaining the Old Man Winter plasmid, instead of proceeding down the main path to the piano, enter the Pret-A-Porter shop first. Freeze the water to get across. Kill all the enemies and you'll find a diary in a dressing room on the right.

    Lock Pick #9: Before entering the bathysphere, find the lock pick hidden behind a bench with a bag next to it.

    Chapter: Housewares

    Lock Pick #10: Find a lock pick to the left of the entrance to the Electronics area. You should have enough lock picks to get all the audio logs by now. There is a another safe later on that just has money inside that you may want to avoid.

    13 - Oven of the Future: In the middle of electronics is an elevator partly sunken into the ground. Find the diary inside.

    14 - The Kiss: This diary is inside The Bistro restaurant. You have to go here as part of the main quest, so it can't be
    missed. It will be in the kitchen area near the vent.

    15 - Observation #17: This diary is in the Customer Service room next to the vent.

    16 - A Little Help: Exit customer service and look for the Bridal shop to the left. Try not to make too much noise. If the splicer inside detects you, you'll enter combat mode and you'll be unable to pick the lock. This requires 1 lock pick. Kill the splicer and find the diary behind the counter.

    17 - Observation #22: After Elizabeth crawls through the hole and opens the door for you, go left and freeze the water to make a bridge. The final diary is in here.

    There are 17 Audio Diaries to find in 3 Chapters. You can collect the logs in a chapter at any time but if you leave the chapter and have forgotten one, you must replay the chapter over Chapterselect.
    For all 17 Diaries you need 8 Lock Picks too. ( 5 for doors and 3 for a Safe) In my Videoguide i show you 8 Lock Pick Locations too.
