For this achievement, you need to be ranked in the silver region of the leaderboards at the moment the challenge time frame ends. Playing a challenge once and earning silver does not guarantee you a silver medal at the end of the challenge. While you are away, players across the world will be competing and filling the leaderboard spots all around you, and if a large enough number score above you, it can drop you down into only the "Bronze" bracket.
It's worth considering that the brackets for gold and silver might change as more people take the challenge and push the averages up. Holding your gold/silver position on a weekly challenge might be harder than on a daily because other competitors have more time to take part and perfect their score.
There are four separate Challenge modes in Rayman Legends, but earning silver medal in any one of them counts for this achievement. They are:
- Daily Challenge: Unlocked at start. Available 24hrs only. Simpler modes/ puzzles, moderate competition.
- Extreme Daily Challenge: Unlocked at lvl 5. 24hrs only. Unique/ challenging puzzles. Slightly less competition than the original Daily Challenge, as it is more exclusive and more difficult.
- Weekly Challenge: Unlocked at start. Available 7 days. Simpler modes/ puzzles, intense competition.
- Extreme Weekly Challenge: Unlocked at lvl 7. Available 7 days. Unique/ challenging puzzles, large competition.
If you were in the Silver Trophy bracket of one or more of these modes as they completed, you will be notified, awarded, and the achievement will immediately pop. (If offline when challenge completes, it will pop shortly after launching the game.)
Sadly, earning a Gold medal in a challenge does not also qualify for unlocking this achievement, Silver, just as this achievement will not award you the Bronze Challenge achievement either. Somewhat oddly, they do all need to be earned separately, which may mean actually playing under your skill level on purpose at times.
Happy Hunting!
