The biggest thing to know is get the ring of life protection ASAP, it basically takes the sting of death away for 3,000 souls, taking out all of the pain in this game...always make sure your carry weight allows you to fully roll to evade properly, bow and arrow is a great way to kill from a distance and draw a target to your kill zone along with baiting and kiteing , farm souls by writing your name on the floor as soon as you get the ability to help others especially at bosses entrances, the Avelyn crossbow hidden in the undead crypt is a beast especially when infused with mundane stone , if you get tired of being invaded in certain parts just start a party , you will be in "offline mode" while still getting date stamped achievements , this game is Probly one of the more rewarding games I've completed besides halo wars , the saboteur and the command and conquer games but no where near as hard as advertised I give it a 9.6

I just earned this achievement and will offer this advice: Collect as many souls and defeat as many bosses as possible in the first game. This will provide a bank of sorts to draw on and can make your second and third play throughs shorter. Keep enough souls on hand to keep rings repaired but level up consistently. Talk to every merchant and know who restocks what, i.e. Ardyne in the Undead Crypt will restock effigies and Ornifax in Teslora will have unlimited herbs "to recharge a few spells".

New game++ did not feel much different from ng+. I did save up 4 million plus souls to level up a the start of ng++. This made my sorceror powerful enough to handle the increased stats in enemies.

Keep track of achievements to earn along the way and cross off what is complete. There is so much data to track that it was easy for me to mix up some details. I could have been done sooner if I had not made an error in my tracking of spell locations.

I ran out of effigies in my first game and almost quit because I could not progress with- out co-op. I learned my lesson. Conserve resources. Waste nothing. Stockpile herbs, repair powder, etc. Experiment and learn to use spells and skills effectively.

I do not know if I will do a no bonfire/no death run or not. I do not know if I will try PvP or not. Invasions caused me to lose progress, killed vital NPCs and so, play off-line as suggested above. The Shrine of Winter jump/skip is viable if you just need to get to Wellager quickly for the last few spells that are in ng++ only. But you will need to delete the updates and play exclusively off-line. Save when you get to him, go back on line and buy your spells and get the time/date stamp if that is important. You can find information on the shrine skip on you-tube.

Dead Souls II made me a better gamer. I consider myself to have average skills. I am grateful to all the gamers who posted guides here. They were invaluable. Thank-you and thanks to the co-op partners whom got me past the evil Chariot boss, ggrrrr. I helped others in return. But that one guy who killed Ornifax in her store while going for me: for you there is no forgiveness, lol. Good luck and persevere.

My stats: SSL: 263 SM: 21011785 700+ hours of play
