Easiest Method:
Have your friends give it to you. But if that was the case, you wouldn't need a guide. so...

The Basics:
You’re going to need a level 70 character for this achievement and then you’re going to have to play it to obtain level 70 legendary gear; there is no getting around this. This guide would get too long if I went into how to level in game so my basic recommendation is to play adventure mode bounties after playing the campaign to make progress for the 500 bounties. Its not the best way to get xp but it'll make the most progress for achievements.

I’m going to leave two methods below depending on what you the reader may consider tasteful. Know that this is meant give options to obtaining this achievement.

Legendary items: Orange (unique) or green (set) items.

In the spirit of the game method:
This game has a system in place such that you’re bound to find a legendary item within 2 hours at worst provided you are actively trying to kill monsters. To increase your chances of obtaining a legendary, you want to play on the higher difficulty levels for better drops.

This link will tell you the specific drop rates for Torment difficulty as well as other useful game information.

One option is to play in a rift by obtaining 5 rift keystone fragments from completing bounties or opening Horadric Caches. Playing in a rift doubles the drop rate of legendary items while in that rift. Note that you will not obtain any rift fragments from the first bounty of any game.

Since rifts aren’t always available and not productive to obtaining the 1,000 gamerscore for this game, another option is to complete every bounty in a single act to obtain something called a Horadric Cache. Horadric Caches can drop any legendary but chances are you might find a Horadric Cache only unique item. Horadric Caches Act 1,2,3 and 5 each have their own unique items while a Horadric Cache from Act 4 can drop uniques from any of those 4 other acts’ cubes.

The chance on any given 1 cube is low but over time you’re bound to find something. If you plan on playing this game long term for fun, I highly recommend farming Act 1 bounties for an amazing ring called Ring of Royal Grandeur which reduces the requirement for set bonuses by 1 (to a minimum of 2 pieces equipped). It lets you get set bonuses you otherwise wouldn’t logically use since one or some of the set items might be very bad.

Focus on killing the Yellow and Purple named enemies for the best effects but don’t discount a good group of generic enemies. You want to pick a difficulty in which you can comfortably stay alive and kill enemies within 2-3 hits. There is no point in choosing a higher difficulty if it slows down how many and how fast you kill enemies.

If you happen to find any set plans for the blacksmith, consider yourself lucky. That can help you create set items for various slots that you may be missing provided you obtain the crafting material. The gear doesn’t have to be good for this achievement. It only has to meet the requirements.

Over time, you’ll obtain blood shards from completing bounties and more shards from playing rifts. Kadala the gambling merchant is a way to pick up unexpected rare legendary items provided you have many shards to spare. It’s a good way to get an armor piece but is more difficult for a weapon, ring or amulet.

Don’t forget to open any easy to reach chests, you never know when a legendary item may appear from one.

Add friends to your friends list that play this game. Occasionally that person may find an item A Gift for (your username) and if they decide to send it, will leave an item in your mailbox that will scale to the character that opens that mail. Most of the times, it’s a legendary item (but not always).

One last advice I could provide is to stay in the same game for an extended period of time. I feel that this game is more likely to give a set/unique in one longer game than multiple short ones in the same time period.

By any internal game means

Method with at least 1 other person:

Duping. This game has an autosave feature that periodically happens. In a multiplayer game that you are NOT host (host is the person that created the game), if you drop items to the ground and go to the dashboard, the game will rollback to your last autosave. That essentially makes a copy of your items you left behind in the game. (Quitting out saves on exiting, don’t do that). Do not try to dupe as the host,as the moment you leave the game will “migrate hosts” which will reset all bounty progress made as well as remove any items that were on the ground.

Do NOT open the mailbox if someone sent you a gift and expect to be able to dupe opening mailboxes. It won’t work . The game will save that you received the item but won’t actually save in-game.

You can exponentially dupe your supply by grabbing your duped item and quitting out the game to save it (or an autosave if it happens) before repeating the method. Great for individual items you need multiple of like crafting supplies, gems and other misc stuff.

Now that you can dupe, the best suggested method is to obtain a Horadric Cache from Act 4 with a level 70 character.

That link will show you what Horadric Cache specific items are available, where and what they do. Or if you don’t feel opening the link, the A4 Cache can drop a Cache-only unique for any slot except armor (unless you are a demon hunter, in which case it has a Cloak available).

By constantly opening Act 4 caches, you’ll obtain 80% or 90% of the slots you need. Cache can drop any legendary but don’t count on it outside of the specific cache uniques.

At some point when you get tired of opening caches, you’ll probably find a few plans for the Blacksmith from the caches. You should check to see if there a set or unique items that will fill out the slots you need. Obtain the crafting materials you need to make them. (Forgotten Souls are obtained by salvaging level 61-70 unique items).

After opening a lot of caches and crafting armor pieces from the Blacksmith, you should have most of what you need. If you opened a lot of caches, you should have obtained quite a few blood shards which can be used to gamble with Kadala for any piece that you may be missing.
Use this if you’re missing 1 or 2 items and have no way to fill it otherwise. Gamble until you find a piece you’re missing, drop it on the ground and then dashboard or just dashboard if you find nothing at all. Once you come back, you’ll have your blood shards back and the item you just pulled will be on the ground.

At some point you should obtain everything. Don't forget to share with your friend that helped, if that person wants it.

Solo method:

"you can dupe items on your own, use a second profile to host a game (I did offline) drop the items you want to dupe, then sign out of your main profile before it saves, now pick stuff up and quit, when you sign back in you should still have the stuff you dropped."

so now you can follow the method above one other person while solo to obtain a similar result

Hopefully this guide sheds some light in possible ways that you can obtain this achievement. Happy Hunting!
