Latest (relatively) Easy Match Day Challenge:

Chile v Argentina 0 - 0 119:00

07/09/2015 12:00 AM BST through 07/14/2015 11:59 PM BST
(07/08/2015 7:00 PM CDT through 07/14/2015 7:00 PM CDT)

[IMPORTANT NOTE: This is assuming they leave it up for the full time. They've been putting challenges up recently with a longer time frame (100+ hours), but then they switch the challenge with something like 40 hours left. That being the case, you should probably try to get this out of the way fairly quickly, just in case they switch it up.]

The setup this time is that you are Chile. You are starting on offense & the throw-in is down near the goal you need to attack. You are already at 119 minutes, and you will get one possession to try to score,

I started it at Legendary - never came close to scoring - and beat it on penalties on my second try. I think most people can get the full 1000, but if you are having issues drop it back to World Class & just get the achievement.

So, my advice is start in on World Class or Legendary - your preference - (most of you will be able to win a penalty shoot-out on Legendary) - and take it to penalties. Give scoring a goal as shot in the brief time you have if you want, but chances are you're going to win it during the shoot-out.

As I've stated before, this should be trivially easy for most FIFA players. Even on Legendary I win it 3 out of 4 times. The odds are even better if you start at World Class. If you can't get this one on World Class or Legendary you should probably switch to a different sport or a different gaming genre.

I will add this: I find that when the AI opponent stutter steps he goes up the middle with the shot on a frequent basis. Past that just use your own judgement. I have my own theories about PK's, depending on which foot they are kicking with, and the direction the last 3 or 4 tries have gone, but to be honest it's all pretty random. You're going to win fairly often in a shoot-out even on World Class or Legendary.

Finally, yes, EA was kind & posted two back-to-back penalty challenges (by far the easiest type to win), but you really do need to Jump on it if you don't have the achievement yet, because they (being EA) are going to stop posting these challenges soon (they have already cut back the number they put up per week) and you never really know if they are going to put up any more easy ones.

Good luck!!

Super Quick Solution (for those of you who can't process more than a one sentence solution):

Be patient & wait for a challenge that is either (a.) a penalty shootout; or (b.) simply requires you to win a match the team you are controlling is already leading.

Quick Solution (for those of you who lose your mind at a solution greater than 100 words):

Check back on Tuesdays & Fridays, at approximately 7 PM London time for new challenges. You can only win this achievement on "Match Day Challenges" - completing "Be a Pro" challenges will not cause the achievement to pop. Now follow the instructions for the "Super Quick Solution" written above.

Extended Solution (for those of who you who need some additional assistance or prefer a bit more exposition so that you fully understand what you need to do to get this achievement):

First, be patient. This achievement has varying degrees of difficulty, depending on your own personal skills at FIFA 15. As of the first set of "Match Day Challenges" only around 50 people were able to get the achievement.

First a few caveats:

1. Be aware that only "Match Day Challenges" pop the achievement - completing a "Be a Pro" challenge will not net you the achievement. And that means that there will be periods where both "Challenges" are "Be a Pro" challenges, and you won't be able to pop the achievement until the next set of challenges are posted.

2. You must complete the "Match Day Challenge" on "World Class" or "Legendary" difficulty - and you must do this before you complete it at any other difficulty level. (As an example, if you complete a "Match Day Challenge" on "Semi Pro" difficulty - and get the check mark for completing it - you can't then go attempt the challenge on "World Class" or "Legendary" & get the achievement. It will not pop in this scenario.)

If you don't know how to get to the "Match Day Challenges", see below for instructions for navigating to the correct page.

Now, if you're uber-skilled at FIFA, then go attempt any "Match Day Challenge" - there are people who can complete virtually any challenge at "World Class" difficulty. If that's you, then go get it.

For the rest of us - who actually have a life - be patient, and wait for one of the first three scenarios listed below - as this will save you hours of your life. Avoid the Scenario #4 & #5 challenges.

So, here are the five types of scenarios for "Match Day Challenges":

1. (Easiest): Penalty Shoot-out: match is at 120:00 minutes, in a penalty shoot-out, and your objective is to win the shootout. These challenges (of which there will be one or maybe two over the course of the next 9 to 12 months) are extremely easy - and I (a FIFA player of slightly above average skill) can complete them on "Legendary" difficulty. If you don't have the achievement yet & one of these pops up, jump on it - because 99.9% of the world will be able to pop the achievement with relative ease.

2. (Easy): Hold The Score: the match is either tied, or the team you are controlling is leading, and the objective is simply to finish the match without letting the other team either take the lead (if tied) or tie the match (if leading). Even on "Legendary" this can be accomplished by the vast majority of FIFA players. Simply set your tactics to "Park The Bus" (press cn_left during the match until the quick "Team Tactics" says "Park the Bus"), and waste as much time as possible. Play keep away with the ball. Change your formation to a 5 defender formation. Again, this should be simple for the vast majority of FIFA players. If the opponent does happen to score, don't attempt to re-tie the game, restart the match, and try again.

(Every so often there will be a variation of this scenario & Scenario #4, which you can choose to take to Scenario #1: the objective will be to win the match, the score is tied, and it's either very late in the game, or in extra time already. You have the option of trying to score (Scenario #4), but then you leave yourself open to a counter-attack, In this particular scenario, the most time efficient method is to take it to penalties (Scenario #1). But it's your choice which option to pursue.)

3. (Average): Penalty/Corner Kick: match is tied, you have possession, are about to either take a penalty kick or about to take a corner, and the objective is to win the match. Simply keep restarting the match until you score on the penalty or corner kick. Obviously scoring a penalty is much easier than scoring a corner, but either way you need to score.

After that follow the advice listed above in Scenario #2. "Park the Bus", play keep away, set your formation to a 5 defender setup, and then just hold on. If they tie the match after you've scored from the corner, re-start the match, and try again (don't waste time trying to score the go-ahead goal again).

4. (Above Average): Score One Goal: match is tied, you aren't in a penalty/corner scenario, and the objective is to win the match. This scenario can be iffy. Sometimes it's not really that difficult to complete on "World Class" difficulty. There were a handful of these last year that I was able to complete in one or two tries on "World Class".

But most people won't be able to judge how difficult it is or how many tries it will take to complete on "World Class" until they try. And, thus, you may waste a lot of time trying to complete a challenge that's much more difficult than it appears to be.

That being the case, if you are simply trying to get the achievement with the least amount of time & effort, then avoid this scenario & the next scenario, Scenario #5.

Alternatively - if you truly enjoy a challenge - then give it a shot - you might just get it.

As for me, I tried virtually every Scenario #1 through #4 challenge on at least "World Class" difficulty multiple times in the last version of the game - and was able to complete all the Scenario #1 & #2 challenges on "World Class", the vast majority of Scenario #3 challenges on "World Class", and a handful of the Scenario #4 challenges on "World Class" - just for reference.

5. (Insane): Everything Else: the vast, vast majority (90% or more) will be insanely stupid. Now I don't know who the douchebag at EA Toronto is that sets up the "Match Day Challenges", but he (or she) really is a douchebag. The overwhelming majority of "Match Day Challenges" will have objectives like this: score is 0-0, time is at 80:00 minutes, you are playing as Real Madrid, your opponent is Bayern Munich, you need to score 8 goals in the match, without conceding any.

It's just ignorant. Don't even attempt to get the achievement if the challenge is a Scenario #5 situation. Complete these on Beginner, Amateur, or Semi Pro - and go on with life - and wait for one of the easier scenarios to pop up.

So that's it. I will - as easy challenges pop up - post them at the top of this solution (and in the comments) - so you can come back here every Tuesday or Friday (or post a comment & then set up your TA account to email you when new comments come in) and find out if an appropriately easy challenge is live.

Instructions for finding the "Match Day Challenges":

If you aren't clear on how to get to the "Match Day Challenges", this is for you:

From the FIFA 15 "Main Menu", use cn_LB or cn_RB to switch to the "Play" tab. On the right side, second from the top, should be a tile that says "Highlights of the Week". Use cn_right, cn_left, cn_down, or cn_up to highlight this tile, then press the cn_A button.

There will be three types of tiles on this "Highights of the Week" menu, labeled thusly:

1. Match Day Challenge

2. Be A Pro Challenge

3. Game of the Week

Only the first type - "Match Day Challenge" - will net you the achievement. You must complete the challenge objective on this "Match Day Challenge" on "World Class" or "Legendary" difficulty before completing it at any other difficulty level in order to net this achievement.

Good luck!!
