How to unlock the San Andreas Sightseer achievement

This achievement is obtained by "unlocking" all the map. You'll notice when you first start the game that most of the map is greyed out with "fog". You need to explore the WHOLE map, to make it all visible. Unlike previous GTA games, the map is fully explorable from the start, just the pause menu map needs to be revealed, why I'm not sure, this achievement seems a bit silly.

The easiest way by far is to use an airplane like the crop sprayer, and mentally separate the map into blocks, exploring each with the airplane, setting waypoints as guidelines. All the map needs to be explored, even the coastline edges, until there are no fog patches visible. Just remember to STAY HIGH around mountainous areas, and be careful going over Fort Zancudo, you get an instant wanted level as it's restricted airspace. Remove 95% of the "fog", and the achievement unlocks.

This was one of the first achievements I unlocked on the 360 version, as I enjoy flying round enjoying the view, no cars to crash into! Just get to cruise altitude, let go of the throttle, then just glide the plane around using engine idle, it's really breathtaking in full HD on my 60" plasma!

    60"?!? Compensating for anything;)?
LOL, it seems bragging about a 60" plasma TV in 2015 would result in others questioning the size of your willy. Even though "full HD" was probably just 1080p then. 😄

DubstepEdgelordI had to fill in almost the entire map, a few small dots of fog left but it took a little while.

The easiest way I found to do this was to get into a Helicopter (Or Plane, doesn't really matter) And then simply fly to everywhere the map is transparent. That means you haven't discovered the location yet. When you "discover" the entire map, take a trip around the entire coastline discovering all the little islands. After that, the achievement, should pop. Good luck!

You explored all of Los Santos and Blaine County.

Unlike in Xbox 360 version where I had to completely explore the map and have it all filled in. On the Xbox One version of GTAV I simply drove around the island in single player whilst waiting for a friends copy of GTAV to finish installing. This achievement unlocked for me by simply driving through the city and around the ring road that circles the entire island. I know GTAV has been patched since this unlocked so I don’t know if it was a glitch or not, It certainly took me by suprise when it unlocked. My map can be seen in the video
