This was my last achievement in the game to get and was only at 61% while I had everything else done, I actually found this guide on another forum and can confirm the method works fine and I got the achievement using it.

1- Go to eagle speed drome
2- Get up to max speed in your chosen car
3- While holding the accelerator hit the options button and go to HQ
4- Hit A To go to workshop and in demo mode rubber band the RT button down
5-Every 10/15mins hit nos to stop you from being kicked for inactivity

If you wish you can come out of HQ and check your progress. The thing I found is that you have to be moving at speed when you initially go into HQ as when I tried it and car is 0mph the odometer doesn't change neither does the award progress.

Hopefully this helps some people out, thanks!

GiinceeCan someone confirm if the max speed of a car is crucial for getting faster progress towards the miles/km? Because my car with the most km on is at 3.500km and has a max speed of 260km/h. If I would use my dragster with a max speed over 500km/h and 200km total would it still be faster to reach the 8.000km?

do the math: 4500 / 260 = ~17h of grinding at top speed
    7800 / 500 = ~15h of grinding at top speed

GiinceeYeah thanks, I wasn't sure if the ingame math works the same like it would in real life, but why wouldn't it. Already got the achievement by now, driving the dragster instead of the car with the further progress

I got tired of the glitchy game resetting my odometer so I just did all 5000 miles in one run. I went to Little Eagle Speedway and just drove around the track topped out at about 240mph. It took about 30 hours.. Helps a lot to snap Netflix or Hulu so its not so boring haha

A1ienspacebatsI'm going to give everyone here the best method of doing this in my opinion as you only have to pay attention for a second every 6 minutes rather than driving yourself around a track for 20 hours.

1st off - top up your circuit spec car - i got mine to 1359 by redoing jump skill 23 near Washington about 80 times (20 secs each) - throw on a podcast or a movie.

2nd - go to the bonneville salt flats. There's a summit marker in the middle that you'll be doing a circle around. Fast travel near there - not directly on it.

3rd - Looking at the map with North at the top, you're going just past the summit marker at the 7 o clock position. get some elastics to hold your trigger and left stick in these positions. I found some of my gf's leftover hair elastics that worked great. I double wrapped the left stick to keep it tight and wrapped it around the back notch. The trigger was easy - just wrap it to the bottom of the right hand where you palm normally goes.

4th - You're going to want to make sure the acceleration is all the way in and rotating the left stick enough to get your speed to stay constant around 200 mph. My car could go as fast as 250 without nitrous but i found the sweet spot to be 200 mph to keep you going in a constant circle and not hitting any objects. I found i could go for a while at higher speeds so this can be at your discretion but found I never had a problem with 200 mph and it won't add too much more time to doing this. Hit up on the d-pad and make sure you're not going over any roads throughout your circle.

5th - this is the hardest part of the ordeal because its extremely annoying - set a timer on your phone to go off every 6-10 minutes. To keep from your session from being idle, hit the a (nitrous) button for as little effect as possible. That's all that you need to remain in the session. Now, if you're doing this from scratch, this will take 25 hours at 200 mph. You don't have to do this in one session - i myself started this endeavour with 1500 miles on the odometer and did this over multiple days while watching movies, tv shows, documentaries that I was going to watch anyway.

6th - don't be discouraged if you have to reset your car. Once i figured out my groove to this, it was a relatively minor ordeal to reset the car's position. You're going to crash multiple times as theres two random groups of stationary trailers and cars you may hit. You're going to forget to set the timer, or forget to prevent your session from going idle. You can reset your car even with the elastics remaining on the controller. There are also some people who hit your car as there is a drag strip with a skill challenge going through your circle and there were times when there were as many as 6 other players in the vicinity of my circle and they hit me a couple times (accidently or on purpose). Don't get discouraged at the start if its not working. Keep messing around with it until you get your own sweet spot and from there it's extremely simple.

As of February 12th, the glitch that resets the odometer has been fixed. I can confirm this myself. As mentioned already, this is best attempted on the Little Eagle Speedway.

This achievement roughly takes approximately 25hrs (200 miles an hour.)

I did this achievement entirely in the 2009 Mercedes SL65 AMG (Circuit - level 1289) across 3 days. The car would achieve 255mph normally and 270mph whilst drafting.

Having a partner to do parts of this with will make the process slightly quicker as you're able to draft them back and forth thus achieving a greater top speed along the straights.

Another tip, if you're coming across some other playing trying to crash into you head on, then just before you think you're about to crash, simply press the back button to go to the map, your vehicle will become invisible (ghost status) and so the opponent will drive right through you, immediately return to the game and you will still be on track with the same speed as when you paused.

    Good luck.

Barad 007I think it's just a single spec for a car.

Still glitched. After 24 hours on the Speedway, 7 % progression. Even with a 340 Z, that is too slow.
