My solution is for the easiest, not the fastest, way to get the achievement.

Go to single player, and start season. Make sure you pick the Sprint Cup (left selection), and not Chase Mode. Then, use these settings for every race:

Race Length 2-5% (can be changed to whatever you feel like)
Difficulty 0% (raise it if you want a challenge at some tracks)
All other settings are user preference.

Now, run the races. You don't have to run all of them, just enough to ensure you finish the first 26 races in the top 30 in points. Also make sure you have at least one win. There is a glitch from NASCAR '14 (not sure if it is in this game as well) that even if you were outside the top 30 after the 2nd Richmond race, and had enough wins to qualify for the chase, you would still be in the chase.

You can skip races you aren't comfortable racing, or, for instance Pocono (the A.I. is still messed up on this track. 0% =about 75-80% at Daytona in my opinion). Make sure, once you get into the chase, you win a race in each round of the chase. The rounds consist of:

Challenger Round:
New Hampshire

Contender Round:

Eliminator Round:

Championship Round:

You only have to win 1 race in each round to advance to the next round. Make sure you try to win Homestead, or finish ahead of the other 3 drivers you are challenging for the championship, and the achievement will be yours.
