This achievement is unlocked by finding all 8 of the hidden treasure chests in the game. The name for this achievement is possibly a reference to Toucan Sam's popular line from the Fruit Loop cereal commercials of the 2000s. There is one hidden treasure chest located in each Act and most can be found in plain sight. Approach a treasure chest to open it and red noses will pour out of it. You can use the red noses to unlock new super moves (red bubble meter) or to build super meter (yellow meter). You will also receive 5000 bonus points for opening the treasure chest in each act. This is noteworthy when going for the Superstar achievement.
While most treasure chests should be simple enough to find without a guide, it is still possible to miss some of them. Provided below is a list of each treasure chest location for all 8 acts of the game. You can replay act stages after completing them by pressing
at the results screen or wait until you've finished the game and use the "Continue Game" option to find any chests you overlooked. The treasure chest locations are as follows:
ACT I: Waking Up - Hilbird Harbor:The treasure chest for Act I can actually be seen early into the stage when you first use a wheel to turn the bridge. But it cannot be opened at that point. Simply continue to play through the stage normally and at some point you will return to the same exact bridge to turn it again to advance. After initially turning the switch, do NOT advance. Instead, turn it again. The bridge will now give you access to the chest that is on a small landing ahead towards the right. Go back the way you came and use the crates and bed canopy to reach some platforms that will allow you to jump onto the bridge to get to the chest.
ACT II: The Swants - Giggle GorgeToward the end of the stage, Sarge, the red Clown General will start bombing you from far away on his ship in the ocean. Advance forward and to your left will be a landing with a treasure chest. Make a long jump onto the trap door platforms and quickly jump up to reach the chest located on the land mass.
ACT III: Ambush - Tickle Town Once you are in the town a little more than half way into the act you’ll come to a section where you must bounce on canopy beds and jump on top of platforms to advance. If you go past the jester juice in plain sight and drop down to a ballista (on your right), then you have gone too far. In the section directly before that, there is an area in the corner that you can drop down to where the treasure chest is located.
ACT IV: Meet Barry - Nipper ForestThis chest can be found during the Pillar Platforming puzzle. In the second area of this section, there is a landing on the left side. Take the left pillar path to reach it (there's also a hidden bauble here).
ACT V: Invasion Force - Camp FollyThis one is mostly in plain sight and is found in the tent area where you need to sneak past the 6 Rooster Sentries. While sneaking past the last few Rooster Sentries, you will see some crates with up arrows on the left side. Climb them to find the chest on a platform above.
ACT VI: 3 Flavors - FortressThis treasure chest is found fairly early into the stage. Right after you pass through the mine trap area with the box springs, you will come to a plank platforming section. There will be 3 Rooster Sentry enemies in the area directly below it. The treasure chest can be found in the left corner of the area below near a Rooster Sentry.
ACT VII: Farewell Jimmy - Winding PathThe treasure chest is acknowledged in this stage before being blocked off by some giant debris. Simply follow the path around it that the game takes you until you come to a fork where the left path takes you to a box spring mine trap section. Don’t go there. Instead take a right. This will take you to a dead end where the treasure chest is located. You will need to defeat some enemies here before opening the chest and advancing.
ACT VIII: Hammer Time - CitadelAfter defeating Big Nose, head towards the big yellow door but do NOT enter it (or it will end the stage and game). On the right side of the door are some trap door platforms you can jump on top of and climb. Use them to get to and jump onto the castle rampart. From here, you will see a backcourt area ahead. Use the other 2 trap door platforms to jump over to it. The treasure chest is in this area.
This achievement will unlock after you've opened the 8th and final treasure chest.
