Homeruns earned both in exhibition and season modes count and I recommend sticking to season mode, as playing exhibition matches doesn't get you any xp to level up, which you really need for other achievements.

It is best to use teams that are power hitters and in season mode focus on giving your team members modifiers from staff which further improve their power and contact stats. Only use power swings - charge up your swing by holding X once the pitcher throws the ball and let go of X when you want to swing (you should always aim to get a power value as close as possible to 99 right before you let go of X).

Once you hit the ball, its flight direction is based on the timing of your swing. If you swing slightly early, the ball will fly towards your batter's side of the field, if you swing slightly late, the ball will fly towards the opposite side of the field, if you swing just in-between those moments, the ball will fly relatively straight. Theoretically, the distance between your batter and the fence of the outfield is shortest towards the sides of the outfield and longest as you approach the middle point of the outfield, so you'd need more power and better contact to strike homeruns past the middle point of the fence of the outfield.

An easy and reliable way to strike homeruns is to position your swing reticle slightly below the pitch reticle and only hit the pitches that arrive in the strike zone or a bit above it. I recommend running on ego 20 or above, as the autoassist for positioning the swing reticle over the pitch reticle isn't as strong and you will have an easier time fine tuning it.

As the opposing pitchers throw balls throughout a match, they get progressively more tired and their pitches gradually decrease in speed, which makes it even easier to hit them exactly as you want.

If you play a match for so long that you notice some of your batters becoming tired, it would be worth considering to substitute them, as their turn at-bat comes up, with bench players (press Y before you play ball or from the pause menu).
