I didn't complete the chapters in chronological order going for SS ranks. When I was done the achievememt wouldn't pop.
I went to my statistics and looked at my mission screen.
After around 10 seconds "Platinum" would unlock.

Another important tip I can give is that the savepoint for nearly every mission comes AFTER the Points Screen.
So when I failed an SS attempt I quickly hit the guide button and quit the game. Restarting gets you at the beginning of the mission again.

A little help towards earning this actual achievement.
The tactic for battles with ground enemies, even bosses like Devastator, is to dodge into focus and instantly hold LT to get the Matrix like jump.
Now go for HEADSHOTS with a LOW LEVEL, LOW DAMAGE MACHINE GUN. You wanna get a lot of headshots in before killing an enemy.
What works best though for Devastator is dodging when he kicks you and while you're in focus attack the leg he's standing on.
This makes him fall to his knees giving you the opportunity to get a shitload of headshots in.

If you're facing flying enemies like seekers try to get close to them while they're floating in robot form and doge one of their bullets/missiles to get a reversal in. Cancel out of it by dodging and do that a couple of times.
For battles with groundsoldiers and seekers it's enough to kill groundenemies with headshots and then taking out the flyers however you like.
You have a couple of missions especially in chapter one where you need to kill a couple of seekers standing on rootops and maybe two flying around in robot form.
Here I killed them as quickly as possible with headshots using a sniper rifle to get an S ranking.
If you make sure to have mostly SS the general ranking should still get you an SS.

Now my tactic against Insecticons:
Always leave one or two Kickbacks alive.
Those are the Robots that turn into something like grasshoppers. They jump around and try to kick you with their back legs. It's their only attack.
Have them have a go at you and dodge into focus. Right after dodging you hold the weak attack button to start a reversal.
Important part here!!! Dodge out of the reversal before it hits the enemy. Rinse and repeat.
Edit: You can also spam rush attacks against them.

Now for the top down part in Chapter 3:
The focus dodge/reversal cancelling tactic works very good here.
BUT there is one mission where you only fight seekers after picking up the red glowing Energon. Just be very quick here, using a strong ranged weapon.
This will earn you an S.
make sure to trigger all missions in this chapter which means going for both possible Energon locations picking it up and carrying each one towards the street .
Again if the majority of the missions has an SS ranking you should be fine.

If you ask me now how many headshots and how many reversal cancels you need unfortunately I can't tell since I don't know the exact points needed for SS.
What I did was going for around 35-40 reversal cancels and for headshots until I was out of ammo.
I takes some time sure but I got it Platinum done first try with less than 6 hours spent.

Additional tips from jedimaster573 (Thank you!):

1) I'm a very averagely skilled gamer. If you're not great at dodging and using the reversals, don't give up. With some persistence, you will eventually get good at doing them.
2) I had very high leveled characters, so I did chs 1, 2, & 7 on Magnus diff (and the others on Cdr). This prevented the AI bots from killing the enemies too quickly. If you are doing this in one playthrough, don't worry about switching difficulty levels, you can still get the ach.
3) Experiment using different TECH perks and different characters if you get stuck. I had a lower level Bumblebee (relatively speaking - stats in the 70s) and he was better on chs 4-6. I used a maxed out prime for levels 1-3 and 7. You can die and go back to the Ark and switch weapons or characters if you need to.
4) You can apply the "defect" perk to a weapon which will take the damage to "zero" (even though it will still do slight damage based on other stats). I used a level 9 hand machine gun with defect level 5, accuracy level 5, & rate of fire level 5.
5) For the ranged sections I had a level 40 sniper rifle with a high rate of fire. When I had ranged sections, I would go to the Ark and equip a TECH with 25% ranged damage, this allowed me to take flyers very quickly and usually get SS (or at least an S).

Hope the helps some of you guys.
Any feedback is appreciated.
