There are a total of 40 Levels in Q*Bert: Rebooted, each one consisting of 3 rounds of varying difficulty; the higher you go, the more difficult things get. Also, you need to gain a certain number of stars in order to unlock more levels at certain points. You earn stars by completing 3 specific goals in each Level:

1) Clearing the Level (as in clearing all 3 rounds without losing your last life)
2) Beat a set time
3) Reach a specific score

Some levels are easy enough to get all 3 Stars at once, others not so much. I recommend replaying each Level to obtain all 3 Stars if you miss one or two the first time around.

Enemies brought over from the original game into Rebooted are Coiley, Sam & Slick, and the red balls (Ugg and Wrong Way aren't featured, probably due to the redesign of the levels). Two NEW enemies are Homer (a little yellow cat that moves when Q*Bert moves) and Mr. Uppercut (a large boxing glove with a cyclops eye and a spring for legs). Homer will not jump off the platforms if you use a disc to escape (like with Coiley), and he will not move unless you move first; usually you can move 2 spaces before he's done moving just one space, os if you time it right you can stop and he'll stay put to allow you to try to plan how to get away from him. Mr. Uppercut has a large force field that repels Q*Bert several blocks in any direction, which can easily knock Q*bert off to his death or into a nearby enemy. Mr. Uppercut's movements are limited, though: he can either go diagonally, or vertically, in a straight line pattern.

You're given 5 lives (shown as hearts) to try and complete each level; You do NOT get any 1-ups at all, so when you run out of lives, game's over.

Unlike in the classic version, Rebooted allows you to move in 8 directions, not just 4; so you can go diagonally, or up & down or side-to-side (though this adds to the poor controls if you're not careful in guiding Q*Bert).

If you mess up, you can simply restart by hitting the cn_start button and select the Restart option.

NOTE: When Q*Bert is hit by an enemy object, he takes a few seconds to die by falling over and lying still, though everything else will still move (especially Sam & Slick, who can freely change the colors of the tiles on you and really mess up your progress). HOWEVER, if Q*Bert jumps off the platform and dies, the enemies disappear instantly and Q*Bert reappears at the starting point immediately.

Why tell you this? In the latter levels, especially Level 39, this is a useful strategy: If you're trapped by enemies and you've got a clear jump to your death, take it - the enemies will vanish and you have a shot at resuming your progress for a few seconds without interference until the enemies start spawning again.

Good luck!
