Save periodically. If someone's health gets below 50%, heal them immediately. Try and be efficient with your damage (ie, if one of your characters does 200 damage, and the other 150, and the enemy has 150 health left, use the one with 150 damage to kill the enemy).
The mime boss is your worst enemy as it has a lot of HP, try to heal often and use your x3 Triple Special, practise with it so you get good enough to pull off a near perfect every time. Remember, the quicker you kill them, the less time they have to damage you.
You'll also want to max out your overkills as soon as possible to maximise your damage output, this really helped me for my playthrough.
