Hello and welcome to PBreezey's achievement guide for the Overwatch achievement "Shot Down"

To get this achievement you have to use D.va's Defense Matrix - which is activated using cn_RB - to prevent/block/absorb 1500 damage. Defense Matrix only has a 10 second cooldown SO Tip #1: Use the Defense Matrix as much as possible and you might just get this achievement through sheer luck.

Tip #2: Block ultimate abilities. One of the best ways to unlock this achievement is to block other player's ultimates. For example, I got this achievement by blocking Reaper's Death Blossom. Other good ones to block would be Roadhog's Whole Hog and Pharah's Barrage. This will not only help you get the achievement, but your team will LOVE you! clap

Tip #3: Find the enemy Bastion. Let's be honest. Right now, there is a Bastion in every game you play. He is set up in a corner, on a ledge, in a doorway - just camping and mowing people down. Use this to your advantage! Let him pump his bullets into you and boost away laughing.

Tip #4: DON'T SHOOT! While your Defense Matrix is active you are free to move around. However, if you begin to fire your weapon it will end your Defense Matrix early. Use the full time your Defense Matrix can be up, then start returning fire.

Tip #5: Just keep trying. There is no formula to getting this achievement, no sure-fire method that will make it pop. It's all going to be trial and error. You may try blocking Reaper's Death Blossom but not soak up the damage you need to pop the achievement. Then two minutes later you could decide to take a ride on the front of the Payload and easily soak up 1500 damage from everyone shooting at you. Just be patient and keep trying.

D.Va can activate this forward-facing targeting array to shoot incoming projectiles out of the air.

What does it do?
For those who haven't played since the D.Va buff, her Defense Matrix is no longer active for 4 seconds with a 10 second cooldown.
It now has a meter that is depleted as you use it lasting for a maximum of 4 seconds. It will take 10 seconds to recharge from an empty meter. There is also a 1 second cooldown between each use. With this new toggle, you must block 1500 damage in one use. Defense Matrix will not block damage that is too close.

What can it block?
It can block most of the heroes' primary and secondary weapons with a few exceptions:
Genji: Swift-Strike
Lucio: Soundwave
Mei: Endothermic Blaster
Reinhardt: Rocket Hammer and Charge
Roadhog: Chain Hook
Symmetra: Photon Projector and Sentry Turrets
Torbjorn: Forge Hammer
Winston: Tesla Cannon and Jump Pack
Zarya: Particle Cannon (Beam)
All melee attacks
You are most likely not going to get 1500 damage with just the heroes' primary and secondary weapons, so now let's look at their ultimates, specifically what ultimates you CAN block.
McCree's High Noon
3,500 Maximum Damage. This damage will vary depend on what heroes McCree has in his sight and how much time they have been in his sight.

Pharah's Barrage
3,600 Maximum Damage

Reaper's Death Blossom
510 Damage is done to any hero in his radius. By having Reaper in the Defense Matrix and blocking all the damage, you will most likely have more than 510 damage, but I'm unsure of this exact number.

Soldier 76's Tactical Visor**
250-850 Damage (depends on range) + 120 Damage (Helix Rockets, if used)

Tracer's Pulse Bomb*
400 damage

Bastion's Configuration: Tank**
1640 Maximum Damage

Hanzo's DragonStrike*
150 Damage

Mei's Blizzard*
This only does damage once it is deployed, so you may not get any damage by blocking it.

Torbjorn's Molten Core**/***
780-1950 Damage (Rivet Gun's shotgun)
1680 Damage (Rivet Gun Primary)
1080 Damage (Level 3 Turret)

Roadhog's Whole Hog**
5000 Maximum Damage

Zarya's Graviton Surge*
This only does damage once it is deployed, so you may not get any damage by blocking it.

None of these take Mercy's Caduceus Staff's 30% damage boost or Ana's Nano Boost's 50% damage boost into account.

*Must be in its projectile form
**Last for more than 4 seconds. Damage shown is for the whole duration.
***This went through various calculations and may be wrong
Bolded names signify recommended ultimates to block
Remember that you are going to get shot while blocking an ultimate, so don't be discouraged if you feel that you didn't block enough damage.

I can't seem to block ultimates, what else can I do?
In Configuration: Sentry, he will do 560-2100 Damage (depending on range) in 4 seconds. Some Bastions will shoot a D.Va through the duration of her Defense Matrix meaning you just have to get close. The more Bastions, the better chance.
Multiple Ultimates
Self explanatory; more blockable ultimates=more damage blocked
Graviton Surge
No, not blocking it, but rather whenever one is used.
When an enemy uses it, the enemy team will target the Graviton Surge, even using ultimates such as Pharah's Barrage.
When an ally uses it, the enemy team will try to survive by killing those around them. They will most likely not use ultimates.

How do I boost this achievement?
Minimum Players Required: 2
1. Have a friend join your game and wait until you two are on opposing teams. Do NOT be in a group, instead join through the social tab or leave the group once you two are in a game.
2. Choose D.Va and have your friend choose Pharah or Roadhog (these are the most consistent.)
3. Let them charge their ultimate and absorb all of their damage.
4. Remember to return the favor!
