Seraphim Needed put up a great link to the roots under the Blazing Roots achievement link. If you still need more advice, wait until chapter 8 before you start root hunting. Also remember that your vision starts to change whenever you're near an evil root. once this happens, look for any vegetation that moves. Kill that and you just killed the evil root.
