Just a few tips to add to the above solution.

1) Honestly, I find not setting up too many combos is the way to beat this thing. If you set off a chain every time with your Beatniks, the game will spawn ~20 more Beatniks. This wouldn't be a problem - but the longer you last you more randomised the Beatniks are to the point you'll have a chain like this:

P-B-Y-G-O-O-P-B-Y-O

And as you can see, this can create a lot of problems. You don't have time to set up chains later in the song as the Beatniks just keep on getting added.

2) Bombs are great if they happen to land in the middle of a chain like the one shown above, but if you have a chain set up then clear your chain first before activating the bomb.

3) Yes, the first song is the easiest. Also make sure you choose the very first character and have it set to 'easy'. The song itself doesn't become too much harder; it's the way the game spawns Beatniks that will screw you over.

Around the 6 minute mark, you will no doubt have yellow and purple Beatniks to deal with. By the 9 minute mark, the game will throw in trigger and directional combos, too. Don't let this throw you - just focus on your Beatniks.

I would also say that if you reach the 8/9 minute mark and keep getting "GOOD" or "try again" then it is going to be immensely harder to reach the 10 minutes.

All of this aside - if you do manage to do this single player, then the co-op local/multiplayer certainly feel significantly easier.

Good luck. wave
