Don't miss any button presses at all in each song. If you miss one, start the song over. As this game saves the highest score, not the grade, it's much easier to start from the beginning and do it this way, as you can routinely get a higher score, but not an A+. It's not so bad with some practice, took me about an hour and a half from the beginning.
