For this achievement you need to complete the World Tour mode with the least possible number of events, meaning as soon as you can go to a new stage go there immediately and complete events until you unlock the next one and so on. You can't have any more than 42 total events by the time you finish so try to get first place in all the events you participate in so that you get a full 16 points for each even if you go over the required for that part of world tour e.g required 40 but to get 40 you do 3 races, come first in each = 48 so you recieve 8 extra points to carry over. At the event result screen you can press to restart if you don't win. Just keep at it and twenty five more points are yours.

Stage one - 32 of 64 tour points (two event wins) needed to unlock stage two
Stage two - 32 of 64 tour points (two event wins) needed to unlock stage three
Stage three - 48 of 64 tour points (three event wins) needed to unlock stage four
Stage four - 48 of 64 tour points (three event wins) needed to unlock stage five
Stage five - 64 of 80 tour points (four event wins) needed to unlock stage six
Stage six - 64 of 80 tour points (four event wins) needed to unlock stage seven
Stage seven - 80 of 80 tour points (five event wins) needed to unlock stage eight
Stage eight - 96 of 96 tour points (six event wins) needed to unlock stage nine
Stage nine - 96 of 96 tour points (six event wins) needed to unlock stage ten
Stage ten - 112 of 112 tour points (seven event wins) needed to unlock achievement

42 total events

Just an addition to the solution above. Guy got a lot things wrong.

You don't have to place first in every race. The points needed to unlock next stage are wrong in the solution above. You'll see yourselves. E.g., in stage 6, only 60 points needed, so you can win 3 races getting yourself 48 points, and then get 5th place in the fourth race.
Stage 7, only 68 points needed. That means, win 4 races giving you 64 points and you can place yourself on 13th position in the last one.
(These are extreme examples, I'm just lazy to do calculations for another :-P) I'm sure you'll get the hang of it :).

And all this concludes to one thing.
Points are not carried over to next stages. They're for the current stage ONLY.

What can help you a lot is this tutorial glitch. If you redo the qualification in the tutorial stage, opponents will be easier to beat for a few races. Keep that in mind :).

Racing again in an already finished event (for getting better place) DOESN'T ruin your achievement.

Hope this helps someone :).

Same advice as above, but if you done a race and you came 4th, as example, you can replay it and if you get first it will count!
As long as you dont start more than 42 events, you're allowed to replay everything you want.
