| I ended up using the "weapon holder" from the scenery list to grab the skull and let it drop to the floor. I could then just pick it up at my leisure. Use the LT to tilt/rotate the weapon holder so that the shiny end points at the skull and it will pick it up so that you can then move it around. Just pull it off the ledge and let it fall to the ground. |

For those of us who aren't fully versed on all the Halo lore, etc... I'll say this plainly so that you don't have to go hunting for the answer like I did.
In order to get all 6 of the Vidmaster Challenge: Brainpan skulls, *all you need* is Halo: ODST. I'm saying this so that you know you don't have to buy the Mythic pack for Halo 3. ODST has those maps on the second disc, and those maps do contain the 3 skulls from Halo 3.
So in other words, if you have ODST, you can get all 6 skulls, including this one, on the multiplayer disc (very, very easily, and get yourself a quick 175 GS in under an hour), or you can use Halo with the two Mythic packs. All of the skulls are available in both places.
As far as this skull goes, the way that I just got it is by flying up on the left, looking at the skull to see that I was lined up, tilting the camera up, and then very quick hitting the d-pad-up-and-then-a-split-second-later hitting RB. It should work. It was the tilting the camera up that I think worked. Gave me an extra millisecond. ;-)
Cheers! |

| I found that placing a wall hugged to the corner of the wall below the skull, then placing a barricade upside down on the wall so its scure then putting a forerunner crate on top helps because all you have to do after that is enter monitor mode fly above the crate turn back to your real form jump and press rb and you have it. Sounds complicated but does work if used properly. This solution is for people with slow reflexes and cant press rb in time, like me =(. |

From the middle of the map go towards to blue side and take a left at the overshield (Bottom floor). The skull is located at the top of the two blue triangles that glow on the wall. See linked video for more information.
Note: Float the monitor as high as you can next to the skull, and press Up on the D-Pad to get back into Spartan form. As soon as you do that, start holding the button to pick up the skull (Default: X), so that you pick it up as you start falling.
The Longshore skull starts at 0:58.
