WARNING!!
PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE YOU DECIDE TO PLAY MULTIPLAYER MATCHES ON CALL OF DUTY 5: WORLD AT WAR!!!
As of 2011, Call Of Duty: WAW has been infected with Modders and Hackers. Modders and Hackers have recently been taking control of the Multiplayer Game Modes, and “Online” Zombie Game Modes on Call Of Duty: WAW. Whilst this may sound un-important to you, they are a big threat in this game, and they are the main source as to why, not many people are playing Call Of Duty: WAW these days!
Among all of the solutions that have been posted for this achievement, none of them explains about the “Domination” Boosting method that me and other people have used to help us build up towards this achievement.
This solution will explain about the Domination Boosting Method, what you need to do, and the rules, which apply towards doing this. I must warn you that this guide won’t be short.
Before you start reading this guide. The approximate amount of time you will need to in order to reach 10th Prestige is 250+ Hours. This would roughly be 12 Days game time!
Please note that if are playing the game on the beginning Prestige level, you will have to reach approximately Level 14 if you want to be a leader for the Game Lobbies. Domination is originally locked on the beginning Prestige Level, until you reach Level 14. If you are not a leader of the Game Lobbies and under Level 14 beginning Prestige, you can still join a group and get into a Domination Match.
STEP 1: INGREDIENTS
· Including Yourself: 8 – 12 Players: 12 Players will be beneficial! · A Headset: For Chatting & Queries · A Dummy Account With Gold Membership (Optional, Great Advantage) · Call Of Duty: WAW Map Packs 1 (Optional) · Call Of Duty: WAW Map Packs 2 & 3 (Great Advantage) · Call Of Duty: WAW Free Makin Day Bonus Map (It’s FREE!!) · Dedication/Time · A Lot Of Coffee & Refreshments
All these Ingredients will be explained in the method, apart from the Coffee.
METHOD: This will be very long!
Firstly, I like to ask, have you ever boosted Gears Of War 2 or F.E.A.R 2, using the King Of The Hill Method? If yes, then you will have an idea what you will be doing. If no, don’t panic, the solution will be explained to help everyone.
Domination Boosting is basically getting a group of 8 – 12 Players in a Domination Match on Call Of Duty: WAW, focusing on a flag, and then taking turns in capturing the flag to build up towards your XP, which will build up towards your levels, which will then build up towards your prestiges, which will then finally build up towards your achievement.
To prestige once, you will need to reach level 65, max out the yellow bar, and then restart from scratch, with a new Prestige Ruby at Level 1. You will need to do this 10 times in order to get this achievement. An example in points is shown below…
1st Prestige = 153,950 Points 2nd Prestige = 307,900 Points (153,950 x 2) 5th Prestige = 769,750 Points (153,950 x 5) 10th Prestige = 1,539,500 Points (10x 153,950)
STEP 2: ORGANISING A DOMINATION BOOSTING MATCH
Organising everyone is the hardest part in doing the Domination Boosting, because you will either have players which are joining incorrect parties, disconnection, updates, finishing off previous games/sessions, lateness, or no shows. Examples.
Before you start though, you need to take note of all the multiplayer maps, which are in the game. The Map Packs have recently added additional multiplayer maps, and if players don’t have the Map Packs, they will get kicked from the lobbies and teams when they attempt to join a map, which they don’t have! Here are all of the multiplayer maps in Call Of Duty: WAW and which Map Packs they come from…
Standard: Not part of Map Packs and came free with the game!
Airfield Asylum Castle Cliffside Courtyard Dome Downfall Hangar Makin Outskirts Roundhouse Seelow Upheaval
Map Pack 1
Knee Deep Nightfire Station
Map Pack 2
Banzai Corrosion Sub Pens
Map Pack 3
Battery Breach Revolution
Free Makin Map Pack: This is a free download that contains one additional map, set in the daytime! Makin Day
All Map Packs in this game apart from the Free Makin Map Pack cost a total of 800 MS Points each. A bundle is available at 2000 MS Points. If you have not realised it yet, Call Of Duty: WAW contains an additional 500G Gamerscore. To get it, you will need Map Packs 2 & 3. Map Pack 1 does not contain additional achievements!
We will explain the organisation in 2 ways, 8 Players, and 12 Players. The amount of players that join your sessions makes the organisation and searching on this game, much different. The tips and planout will mostly be explained in the 8 Player Section, so make sure you read both, before you continue.
STEP 3a: 8 PLAYERS
Having 8 Players in your session won’t build up your leveling systems as fast as 12 players, and searching for a match with 8 people is also difficult. However, 8 players are better than none.
Start off by getting the leader of the session to create a “XBox” Party, letting him or her invite everyone in the session to join the “XBox” Party. Once everyone is in the party, the leader needs to ask everyone if they have any of the maps packs in the game, as if they don’t, it reduces your chance of finding matches on certain maps. Once done, the leader needs to decide which two players are going to be hosting the “Game Lobbies”, and which players are going to be joining? Once decided, the two players who are going to host the Lobbies, must create them, and then invite the 3 players, that they are having in their lobbies. Once done, both “Game Lobbies” should have 4 people in total on each side!
When the two players are ready with their 4 players respectfully, they need to co-ordinate each other to search for a match. When searching, select “Core” and then select “Team Tactical”. Team Tactical is the only method in being able to get a Domination match with 8 players. The drawback, though, is that you will have to vote until you have a Domination match on your screen!
Select Team Tactical, and then hope for a Domination Match. If one of the hosts is searching, and another one decides to search shortly after, you will most likely meet up in the same lobby, giving you 8 players in total. If Domination is not the first game mode as you search in the lobby, you have to vote for it, so tell your team to vote, until the votes passed. If you get another game mode, other than Domination, you will need to back out, and retry. To back out, the host must press the B Button and the game will say “Leave With Party?”, now you will see No & Yes, but there is a third option on top of Yes saying “Leave With Party”, select that option, and the game should return you to the Lobby Menu with all 4 Players. If it didn’t work, you’ll have to either get the teams to re-join your “Game Lobby”, or do a re-invite! The game does have lag issues at certain times, when you do the lobbies, so you may have to do invites on certain occasions. Once everyone’s returned to your lobby, select Team Tactical again and re-try a search for Domination Match.
You will also have to back out and retry another search if a Random Player who is not in your party joins your Team Tactical Lobby. You must definitely do this, if you have a Modder/Hacker that joins your Lobby!
If one of you successfully finds a Domination Match in the Team Tactical Lobby, you need to quickly tell the other team that you have found a Domination Match. That teams host must quickly find the game mode their in, or a Random Player could join the lobby. If the other team is taking too long to find it, get one player to send out a Game Invite to everyone via the “XBox” Party!
You will also need to figure out, if the Domination map you’ve got, is a map that everyone can play on, because of Map Packs. If it is, you can keep it, if not, you will have to skip it, and retry until you get a Domination Map that everyone can play on!
Finally, once everything is complete. Allow the game to load your Domination Match. Move onto the “Playing the Game Step!”
STEP 3b: 12 PLAYERS
12 Players in your session is great, as you can get a lot of XP during a single match, as there will be more of you going for the flag. If you manage to get a 12-player session, consider it as your lucky day!
The only way, that you can interact with all 12 Players, is by creating 2 “XBox Parties”. Start off by getting the leader of the session to create an “XBox” Party, and letting him or her invite 6 Players of their choice, to join the “XBox” Party. During this stage, the leader must also decide which one of the 6 players they invite, can host the "Game Lobby" for the team of 6. Once they are all in, the leader needs to ask everyone if they have any of the maps packs in the game, as if they don’t, it reduces your chance of finding matches on certain maps. Next, the leader then asks the player who is hosting the "Game Lobby" to invite the 5 players who are in the party to join their lobby and form up a team of 6. Whilst they do that, the "leader" drops out of the "XBox Party", and creates a fresh new party and invite the other 5 players to join the "XBox Party". When everyone arrives in the 2nd "XBox Party", you should then have 6 people in one XBox Party, and 6 people in the other one. Since the leader is in the 2nd XBox Party, they need to make another decision as to who is going to host the other Game Lobby. Once decided, the player invites everyone to their lobby to form up a group of 6. Ensure that the leader asks everyone in the 2nd Party if everyone has the Map Packs once again.
When the two parties are ready with their 6 players respectfully, they need to co-ordinate each other to search for a match. To do this easily, the Game Lobby leaders should send a “Chat Invite” to each other, and then tell each other what they’re doing. It is also an idea to do this, if you have players which are late, not ready, or no shows.
When ready, they will both need to select “Core” and then select “Domination”. If one of the hosts is searching, and another one decides to search shortly after, will most likely meet up in the same lobby, giving you 12 players in total. You will both need to figure out, if the Domination map you’ve got, is a map that everyone can play on, because of Map Packs. If it is, you can keep it, if not, you will have to vote it, and see if the next map is a map that everyone can play on. If not, you will both need to back out and retry the search.
To back out, the host must press the B Button and the game will say “Leave With Party?”, now you will see No & Yes, but there is a third option on top of Yes saying “Leave With Party”, select that option, and the game should return you to the Lobby Menu with all 6 Players. If it didn’t work, you’ll have to either get the teams to re-join your “Game Lobbies”, or do a re-invite! The game does have lag issues at certain times, when you do the lobbies, so you may have to do invites on certain occasions. Once everyone’s returned to your lobby, select Domination again and re-try.
You will also have to back out and retry another search if a Random Player who is not in your party joins your Domination Lobby. You must definitely do this, if you have a Modder/Hacker that joins your Lobby!
Finally, once everything is complete. Allow the game to load your Domination Match. Move onto the “Playing the Game Step!”
STEP 3c: INFO FOR ORGANISING BOOSTING MATCHES
A “Game Lobby” in Call Of Duty: WAW is simply the lobby which is accessed as soon as you select “Multiplayer” in the Main Menu, and “XBox Live”. Your name will appear on the right side of the screen, with your level and prestige you’re on. Here you can invite players in your lobby, and then take them to matches, you wish to play on as a team! No matter which game mode you play, you will always be on the same side. Some game modes though cannot be accessed with more than 1 player e.g: Free For All. A person who is hosting a “Game Lobby” on Call Of Duty: WAW is also the team leader. If he or she leaves, the party gets disbanded.
So with this in mind, do not get yourselves confused with the “XBox” Party, and the “Game Lobby”. The XBox Party is the Party used via the XBox 360 Dashboard (Big X Button, Party, Create Party etc). And the “Game” Party is accessed by the games Multiplayer, XBox Live Menu.
Now here are some additional tips for players who are hosting “Game” Lobbies”. We have discovered during our sessions that, players who live in the same remote parts of the world are likely to meet up easily, and get a game, which is based in their regional part of the world. To put it simply, we suggest that the two players, who host the “Game Lobbies”, are roughly from the same part of the world. An example is 2 USA Players hosting Game Parties, or 2 UK Players hosting, 1 Scotland Player & 1 German Player etc. The reason is because, if you have 1 person from one part of the world searching for your partner who lives in another part of the world, it would take ages. Another addition to this, is that if both players set their Preferences to Locale Only, when the game searches for a match, the game will automatically search for players who are in your party, and closest towards your region. If it fails, the game will then do a Worldwide Search! This is also another reason why we suggest that 2 people from the same part of the world host sessions! To set Preferences, simply press your X Button in the Lobby Menu, and then select “Locale Only”.
STEP 4: PLAYING THE GAME
You finally have your game ready. Great!! Now I will explain how to do the boosting. Like the Organisation, we will separate this section, depending on how many players you have. Before you do so. You need to take note of this list of maps, and which map you’re playing on, so that you know which flag you need to go to. Find the map you’re playing on, and then tell everyone that they need to head to that Flag. No one must shoot each other, no one must kill each other, no one must capture any other flags, and no one must capture the flag until everyone is in position. Get everyone to run to the flag and then get everyone in position! Here is the list of all the Maps, and which flag you need to go to…
Airfield - B Asylum - B Banzai - C Battery - C Breach - B Castle - A Cliffside - B Corrosion - B Courtyard - C Dome - B Downfall - C Hangar - B Knee Deep - B Makin - B Makin Day - B Nightfire - A Outskirts - A Revolution - A Roundhouse - A Seelow - B Station - A Sub Pens - B Upheaval – B
STEP 5a: 8 PLAYERS
Since you are all in an “XBox” Party, you should all be able to talk to each other easily. When your map has loaded, get everyone in the game to head to the flag, which you are taking. For instance, if you are in the Makin Map, you all need to head to Flag B! When everyone has arrived, you will all need to do a Hit Marker, before you begin.
Decide between the two teams, which team is going to win the match first! The reason is because the winning team gets a bigger amount of Bonus XP at the end of the match. It’s important that everyone gets a turn at winning and losing to share out the Bonus XP at the end of the match! Once you have all decided which team is taking the win, then that’s the team that captures the designated flag first. To capture a flag, get everyone in the team to run in and stand in front of the flag! You will see a bar going left to right. Once it reaches the right side, you will successfully capture that flag. Once the team has captured the flag, everyone then takes a few steps back, and then allow the other team to capture that flag. They will do the same as you. Once captured, they must take a few steps back, and then you capture it again. Then, when captured, you step back and allow the other team to re-capture it. That’s it! That’s all you do for the rest of the match. Take turns in capturing the designated flag until the match is completed!
You will get 15 Points each time you and anyone on your team capture the flag. The more people that capture the flag, the faster the rhythm will go, allowing you to pick up more points! At the end of an 8 Player match, it is possible to get over 3000 Points, which does increase you quite a bit!
12 PLAYERS
When your map has loaded, get everyone in the game to head to the flag, which you are taking. For instance, if you are in the Castle Map, you all need to head to Flag A!
Once you have all decided which team is taking the win, then that’s the team that captures the designated flag first (example Castle Map Flag A).
At the end of a 12 Player match, it is possible to get over 4000 Points, which does increase you a lot!
STEP 5c: INFO FOR PLAYING A BOOSTING MATCH
A “Hit Marker” is simply a single Pistol shot to your opponent’s chest. You only need to pick "one" opponent, and you only need to shoot 1 Pistol shot on them. You must not do multiple shots, and obtain a kill. The reason why you need to do a Hit Marker is because if you don’t fire a weapon on any opponent during the match, you won’t get a “Match Bonus” at the end of the match! Match bonuses give you Bonus XP. Whilst doing this Hit Marker event, you will find that one or two of you will get shot at by a couple players. This is fine, but if your screen goes red, quickly crouch down, to signal the teams that you are weak and you need to restore your health back to normal. Ensure that everyone has done a successful Hit Marker in the match, before you start the boosting. Hit Markers can be done at any time, but it's suggested to get them done as soon as possible.
A Domination Match’s score limit is 200, and since you and the other team are constantly capturing the same flag, the numbers on the bottom left side of the screen go really slow. Make sure that nobody else captures any other flags in the game, otherwise the score will go up, and will reduce your chances of getting a very high amount of points in your match!
Because a Domination Match has no time limit, it means you can spend as long as you need to, in order to successfully build up your points, using this method. A traditional Domination Boosting Match takes around 25-40 Minutes!
STEP 6: RULES
Here are the rules, which we have also done, when we have been boosting this game…
Rule 1: No killing other players is allowed in the game whilst capturing flags. You may only take a kill, if you are suddenly killed by an opponent, doing certain challenges with players, or if a Random player shows up in the game.
Rule 2: You must not capture any other flags in the game, other than the flag, which you have been assigned to on the map. If you capture any other flags in the map, the game will last shorter, and you will obtain less points. The idea is to ensure everyone gets a lot of points out of the match.
Rule 3: Each team must take a turn in winning and loosing a match, to even out the points. Do not attempt to join different teams, just so that you can win every match. If the team, which is winning, has fewer points than the loosing team, the loosing team must reach a Domination score of 198/200. Once it’s reached 198, the winning team must capture the flag, and then stay on the flag to signal the other players, that it’s their turn for winning!
Rule 4: Whilst Boosting with the flag, if you are suddenly killed by an opponent, you have the right to kill the person who killed you. It should end there. Don’t push the limit! You are boosting the game after all! You can check your scores and comparisons by pressing the Back Button on your controller. The opponent can also do the same to you if you accidentally kill them as well!
Rule 5: We suggest that you do not have the Martyrdom (Drop a Grenade when killed), Perk in the class, you’re using for boosting. If you do, and you get killed, the live Grenade will most likely cause a bloodbath for your boosters! If this happens, expect several deaths coming your way!
Rule 6: If a player in the game captures the flag, but stays idle for too long, the other team will perform warning shots on the player. He or she must then back away from the flag, or if they don’t, they will be killed. This is the only occasion where the player doesn’t have the right to obtain his/her kills back.
Rule 7: If a Dummy Account is in the game, the player who has the dummy account must make sure that they have chosen a Weapon Class. If the dummy doesn’t choose a class after 2 minutes of the game beginning, the account will get kicked from the game. It’s important to do this to ensure no Random players join your game. This is also important for players who are backing away from the game, for a short period of time, as if they don’t choose a weapon class, they will be kicked as well.
Rule 8: Unless the Dummy Account is boosting with the team (can be done), then this is the only occasion, where an opponent can go around the arena and obtain kills. You must take note, that if a player decides to constantly kill a dummy account, they will be avoiding the main flag, and it will reduce the amount of points, the teams can get in a match. We suggest if this happens, that the player goes for one or two challenges on the dummy account.
Rule 9: If a player has difficulty with their XBox Live Connection, it is strongly suggested that they get a certain amount of points during the match, leave the game, and then return to it via XBox Live Invite, or searching for the game. We suggest that the player gets 500-1000 Points, and then they leave the game by pressing, “Start” and selecting “Leave Game”. Once done, a party member must either give them an invite to return to the match, or the drop out player must search for the matches themselves. This must be done quickly, otherwise there is a threat of a Random Player joining your match! The reason why we do this is because, if a player gets kicked off XBox Live, they will loose all of their points they have obtained during the match, unless they quit the game and return to the lobby menu on a regular basis.
It must also be noted that the player who leaves and returns to the game, will not get a very big amount of XP in Match Bonus!
Rule 10: If a Random joins your match, you must decide between everyone, if the match should continue, or end. If the Domination score is less than 100 Points, then everyone should back out and leave the game. If it’s over 100, then the winning team, should capture the other 2 flags in the game, and then allow that team to win. Once the match is complete, re-group in the game lobbies. If the Random Player is a Modder/Hacker, the game must be stopped immediately!
When a Random Player joins, everyone who’s on the team that has the Random must crouch so that it gives an signal as to who is the Random Player and where. The other team, must keep an eye-out for the Random Player, and kill them on sight! They must also watch out for Grenades, Betties, and Satchels that the Random Player could lay around.
A Random Player is more than likely going to go on a killing spree, and kill all of their opponents in the match. Situations like this make the game go crazy, so everyone must remain calm, and work together to figure out, what the Random Player is doing in the match.
If however the Random Player looks suspicious as to what you are doing, when capturing the flag, leave him/her for a moment to see what they do. On a very rare occasion, a random player may join in your Domination Flag Captures.
Rule 11: If a player in the game is close to prestiging, then the player must not leave the match immediately to prestige. They should either prestige in the lobby menu in the game, or co-ordinate with the team and then decide what to do afterwards. This is because as soon as they leave the game, Random Players could possibly replace the player.
Rule 12: If you need to take a break during a match, then the player must back away from the capturing flag, and then they can do their own things. If the game is just beginning, the player must select their weapon class, so that they are in the game, otherwise they will be kicked after 2 minutes.
If the player is not capturing the flag, they will not gain any XP!
STEP 7: CHALLENGES
The Barracks game mode contains Challenges which gives the player tasks that they can complete which will give them extra XP! These challenges can be anything such as getting kills with weapons, running a certain distance, falling from a certain height, calling in recon planes/airstrikes/dogs, and more. Some Challenges will contain 3-4 Stages. Each stage gives you more XP if you complete it. However, most Challenges contain just the 1 Task, which traditionally gives you a 250 XP Bonus.
It must also be noted that, the higher rank level you are, the more challenges you can do. You won’t be able to do many if you are ranked between levels 1-30!
During our boosting sessions, we allowed players to complete challenges if they request them. If a player does want to do challenges, then they must tell the teams which challenges they want to do. If there is an opponent who is willing to help you, then he/she will get into/search for a position allowing the player to complete the challenge they want. Make sure that, if they do the challenge that they do it correctly, and quickly, to avoid missing captures!
In 8 Player Domination Sessions, once everyone has fully "experienced" the Domination Boosting, we asked one by one in the team, which challenge a person would like to complete. With response, the person will then have the right to complete 1 Challenge of their choice. Once they have done their challenge, another person will take their turn. We expect players to work together, allowing everyone to complete a challenge. When everyone has done challenges, teams can decide either to complete another challenge, or start capturing the flag.
When a players name is called out during the Challenges, they must tell the teams what Challenge they would like to do. During our sessions, we suggested not to go for the 50, 75+ weapon kills, otherwise this will take too long! If the player did not answer us back with a challenge, they will simply miss a turn!
Should the player require kills with a certain weapon of their choice, we allowed the player to only get 25 kills max for each turn.
There are loads of challenges in Call Of Duty: WAW which can be completed, but if you are stuck for some ideas, here is a list of a good few we helped players with…
Boot Camp
Sayonara Fall 30 feet or more to your death.
Geronimo Fall 15 feet or more and survive.
Swan Dive Fall 20 feet or more into water and survive.
Vandalism I, II and III Blow up 1, 5, 15 cars.
Backdraft I, II and III Destroy 1, 5, 15 enemy explosive devices.
Elite
Fast Swap Hurt an enemy with the primary weapon, then finish them off with a pistol.
Dominoes Kill an enemy by setting off a chain reaction of explosions.
Invincible Get 5 health generations from enemy damage in a row, without dying.
Desperado Kill an enemy with the last bullet in your clip.
Flawless Play an entire full-length match without dying.
Survivalist Survive for 5 consecutive minutes without dying.
Field Specialist
Gas Mask With the Gas Mask perk equipped, kill the enemy that threw the Tabun Gas Grenade.
Shades With the Shades perk equipped, kill the enemy that threw the flare.
Humiliation
Multi-Frag Kill 2 or more enemies with a single frag grenade.
Multi-Mine Kill 2 or more enemies with a single Bouncing Betty/Satchel Charge
Backstabber Stab an enemy in the back with your knife
Slow but Sure Kill 1 enemy while you are being poisoned with Tabun Gas
Cruelty Kill an enemy, pick up his weapon, then kill him again with his own weapon. Special Delivery
Potato Chucker Finish off an enemy by hitting them directly with a frag grenade.
Think Fast Special Finish an enemy off by hitting them with either a signal flare or a Tabun Gas Grenade
There are loads more challenges which can be completed during this boosting procedure, but this is just an example of what you could possibly do. Some Challenges can be completed whilst capturing the flag.
It is strongly suggested you do the Challenges with only 8 Players, since everyone will be in the same “XBox Party”, and it will be easier to co-ordinate.
FINAL COMMENTS
This method for boosting the Prestige Achievements is very long, and boring, but it is one of the only beneficial ways of getting the achievement, since the game is infested with Modders/Hackers.
There are currently sessions still on-going for this achievement, which are created on a regular basis, but bear in mind that once players have reached 10th Prestiged, it is likely that they will finish the game, and move on. If you want this achievement via Domination Boosting Method, you will need time, dedication, a lot of players, and regular sessions to keep up the pace.
It takes roughly 5-7 Sessions on Trueachievements to reach a Prestige! This also varies depending on how many players you have in the session. If you have 12 Players, consider it as a bonus!
UPDATE: I have recently found a YouTube Video, which gives an example as to what we do in Domination Boosting. It is on the Playstation 3 Version of the game, but it's entirely the same method as what you do on the XBox 360. By looking at the video, you will notice that the actual boosting is dead easy.
Hopefully, a better quality video from the XBox 360 Version of the game will be posted soon. Hope this helps!
I hope all of your questions have been answered with this solution, but if you have any, feel free to ask under this solution, and hopefully, one of our regular boosters, will be willing to answer.
If you decide to boost using this method, welcome aboard and good luck. You’re going to need it!

Others have identified the mechanics of which level and how to prestige. I am sharing with you how many levels and points it takes to Prestige. I prefer playing Headquarters and Domination to get points. Some Search and Destroy is also fun but this will take a bit of time to grind through for a pointless achievement. I started collecting data on how many xp is needed for each rank. Here is what I have.
