FYI: You don't need to shake the mic & press the controller buttons at the same time to get this. As long as you shake the mic or press the buttons to the beat of the song at a steady pace, you'll get this medal.

Anyways, the easiest song for me to get this medal on was Coldplay's "Yellow." Just start pressing the button to the beat of the song as soon as it starts. I'm able to get the medal right before or after the vocals kick in. (Which is about 30 seconds into the song). Afterwards, I just put the TV on mute and wait for the song to end so I can get credit for the medal w/o having to hear his awful voice.
