The first time that Maw receives the Bulbous power is in level 2 ‘Bulb Valley’. Maw has to grow once in this level before he is large enough to be able to eat the Bulb Queen; you can do this by eating some of the yums that appear in the surrounding area. To get the power, you have to attach the wrist device to the pollen carried by a purple Bulb by pressing B. You are then taken on a ride over Bulb Valley, and you have to switch from a purple Bulb to a yellow Bulb, then to a blue one, then to a pink one, and finally to a green one. When you are over the area where the Bulb Queen is sat, you are prompted to press A to pull the pollen from the Bulb and land on the floor. Slam the pollen into the generator to disable the barriers by pressing A. Maw can now eat the Bulb Queen.
You can electrify the blue worms and Yums with this power just by walking up to them; I’m not aware of any non-living objects that can be electrified in this level. It is possible, although difficult, to get this achievement on your first playthrough of level 2, because there aren’t that many objects that can be electrified. I would just electrify the blue worms and then throw them in any direction to daze them. They would then disappear and respawn again. I electrified the same few worms three or four times to get this achievement in level 2.
You do also get this power briefly in level 6 ‘Mesas’, but you may have to electrify some worms repeatedly until you have enough objects between the two levels to get the 50 needed. If you don’t want to do this, you can also replay levels and your progress will carry over, so playing level 2 twice would provide more than enough objects for you to unlock this achievement. |
