| If the above solutions didn't work for you, try doing it the opposite way which worked for me. Make sure to turn decoys on in the settings menu. Use two controllers and set up the ships in the upper left hand corner so you can easily keep track of them. With the controller you want the achievement with, sink three and only three ships (best done in salvo mode for quicker play). After sinking three ships (and missing completely with the other controller), intentionally miss in the lower right hand corner. Within a turn or two of missing completely, you will see a false hit. On your next turn, continue firing on the ships in the upper left hand corner or in any box NOT adjacent to the false hit. The achievement should pop. It worked twice for me this way when I couldn't get the other way to work. Hope this alternative helps. |

The trick to getting this achievement is that you have to be losing fairly bad to have a decoy show up on your screen. A decoy will show up as a 'hit' on your screen, it may be a decoy. On your next turn, don't bomb the adjacent spaces next to this 'hit' (indicated by a red X). If it was a decoy, the achievement will unlock after your turn is over.
Like all the achievements in Battleship, it is easiest done using two controllers. Set up both players ships where you can easily remember their locations. Using the second controller, sink three of your ships without sinking any of the player 2 ships. A decoy should now appear on your screen. On your next turn, simply don't bomb the spaces next to the decoy (You know it's a decoy because you know where the ships are). |

If the other solutions don't work, here is how I got it...
Set up a Salvo game making sure that Decoys are on in the settings. I placed all my ships in the top left hand corner and just started randomly shooting where I knew they weren't. Both times it was in the bottom right hand corner 1 up from the corner. I used two controllers as well. |

| Be sure that in the settings menu that "Decoys" are on. Have 2 controlllers plugged in. Place all ship along the edges of the water and be sure you remember where they are. On the profile you want the achievement be sure to miss every shot and on the other profile be sure to hit everything, but don't win it . If you notice you get a hit on the profile you want the achievement on, that is good. Be sure you hit AWAY from the red X, hit nothing that is close to the red X . The you should get the achievement. And if you can't find the decoy then double-check you turned on "DECOYS" in the "SETTINGS" menu. There's an easy 10 Gamerscore! |
