"Books" are the tutorial and hint guides in the game. You will acquire "books" as random item drops from enemies, as well as obtaining them from treasure chests and containers.
You will spot them easily in your inventory. They will be on the same inventory page with the items you can forge into weapons such as magic pearls, lava chunks, etc. as well as your consumable skill boosts. "Books" will always appear at or near the top of the list.
You don't actually have to read the "books", although they can be helpful. You simply have to "consume" them the same way you do with the skill boosts. Also, you don't need to collect 33 individual books. If you find more than one of the same "book", go ahead and "consume" it anyway as it will count toward the 33 books read.

Books are kind of hard to find. Don't worry too much about this though. I recommend playing with all 6 characters and getting them to level 15 each. During that time you will decide which characters you like and which you don't, and therefore what character you want to complete each of the light and shadow campaigns with. Any time you find a book with the 6 characters as you level to 15, stick them in your Hero Chest. Once you start attempting to finish a campaign you should start finding lots of books. Wait until you accumulate 33 in your Hero Chest, pull them all out with one character and "Read" them all. I was able to complete this achievement by the time I was at level 15 with 4 characters about 60% done a campaign with one of those 4. |

For this achievement the books must all be read by the same character. The books will show up in the miscellaneous section of your inventory between any class runes you own and unusable runes for other classes. Some books are numbered IE book 5, but not all of them are. They are easily identifiable by the book symbol to the left of the title.
Farming for this achievement can be sped up while you are working on the level 15 class achievements. Simply put every book you find into the hero chest and once you have 33, select one character to take them all out and use/read them by pressing 'A'. |
