I found this to work very easily and right at the beginning of the mission: Start up Defense of Guadalcanal in the Japanese Campaign on Rookie, at the beginning the Americans will start sending landing craft from offshore, if you have the G5N Liz unlocked then select it as your upgradable unit over the G4M Betty during the setup before the battle. When the battle starts make 2 squadrons of the Liz's and make sure to select the smaller 100 kg bombs, as you will get more of them per plane, 30 to be precise, and this combined with altitude will make your carpet bombing line or distance longer. Just have them chill for a bit, wait for 2 American landing craft to reach the beach, once they do, stay at a high altitude and line yourself up along the beach and make a straight run from the side on the two landing craft from along the beach, this is the point at which the 2 ships are the closest together, not to mention they are now static and not moving targets. Drop your bombs a spec early, you will be guaranteed to more then cover the distance and hit both ships with the 30 bombs. Hope this helps.

I found that in training, the ships are never close enough to each other to hit more than 1 on a single bomb drop run.
