Another easy method. Once you've unlocked the air strike ability go to a base. Climb the roof of the building opposite of the base and order the strike. You do this by targetting the building, press RB and Y.
9 out of 10 times the building is completely destroyed. |

You should obtain this by playing through the side-missions but you don't need them.
Anytime you see a Hive or Bases sign on your map go to it and destroy it. I would suggest hijacking a Tank or Helicopter. As using their missiles will make it fall a lot faster than using your fists and powers. |

This is easily done once you reach mission 16, where you get to hijack helicopters. It is much easier to destroy hives then bases, mostly because the hives have nothing to counter helicopters except hydras, which usually are not found among hives. Start off by doing your infected consume events, which will always ask you to destroy a hive in the given time limit.
Before you get the ability to hijack helis, use mostly air strikes, then follow up with tossing some cars or air conditioning units at it.
Once you are able to skyjack, find a helicopter, board it (usually with whipfist grab) and set out. I got this achievement after I just decided to try and wipe the island of all hives, hijacked a heli, and just blew up all hives on the map with the missiles (non lock-on). I ended up with 2 bases and 8 hives destroyed, and don't worry, hives and bases rebuild after a little while so you will never run out. |
