I also got this one during the very first special stage by making sure I got a perfect by collecting every ring. (See the Chaotic Achievement for details).
However if you don't get it then, destroying badniks will award you with points as will completing the level with a certain amount of rings or time left... these will award you with lot's of points.
You will undoubtedly get this achievement through just playing the game normally.

The quickest way to getting this is right at the beginning of the game, go down to the very first special stage ring (right at the first drop off in the level, smash through the rocks). Just simply complete it while collecting every possible ring. For squares of blue spheres, just get the ones on the very outside and the entire square will turn into rings. You NEED to do this to get a perfect in the special stage. Once you collect every possible ring in the special stage, just complete it by getting the remaining blue spheres. Not only will you get the Points II achievement, but you will get the Points I achievement with it (obviously), and a continue to boot.
If you fail to complete the first special stage, do not fear, as there are plenty more special stage opportunities throughout the game. Even with time and ring bonuses that you get at the end of each act, you should have this achievement at least by the end of Angel Island Zone. |
