There are 6 levels in total each with 2 Acts (Angel Island, Hydrocity, Marble Garden, Carnival Night, Ice Cap and Launch Base).

You need to complete the last stage of the Launch Base and defeat Dr Robotnik in his machine with the giant hand.

You have the advantage of a save feature that you can use to save your progress at any point in the game so if there's a section that you think you're going to die, save it and then attempt and if you fail, re-load the game save.
