Play through the game until you reach Halure, once there you will be tasked with gathering three items. Take these items to the store in Halure and you will be taught how to synthesise items.

If you've run through the game and don't have the necessary items for synthesis then go to the marketplace and download the Trial Synthesis Kit. Once it's downloaded you can find it by accessing your item menu and scrolling to the last category. Redeeming this pack in game will provide you with ten of each of the following items: Medical Herb, Soul Grass, Gel Base and Magic Resin.

You will then be able to synthesise an Apple Gel using 1 Medical Herb and 1 Gel Base for a cost of 75 Gald.
