You have to unlock this venue if you haven't already. To unlock the "Retro New York" Home Run Pinball venue, you need to complete "Become a Legend" mode.

The "New Year's Ball" is in the centre of the venue. To hit it you'll need to use your "Big Blast". Aim Up, and power hit (Up+B).

It might take a couple tries to hit it. Once you hit the ball, you'll get the achievement.
