There are a total of 5 Tengu that need help, and they are listed by chapter name and what you need to do for them.
1) Leaving Home-Tengu in the village: Destroy all samurai on other side of the bridge. Just kill all the samurai across the bridge and that's it. There are a total of 13 that need to be killed.
2) Leaving Home-Tengu near the Temple: He wants a Burdock Flower. The Burdock Flower is right up the stairs near the temple, behind a few statues.
3) Haunted Forest-Tengu in the woods to the left of the main path from start: He wants a Spear of Ashida. You should have one to spare so just hand it over to him.
4) Flooded Valley-Tengu near the start of the level: He wants you to go to the temple and check on the Tengu there. Once you return, he gives you the sturdy rod, which will allow the giant Koi to drag you into the next area.
5) Winter Range-Tengu by the split in the path near the start: He just wants a Tiger Lilly. Just hand one over and you're done.
The achievement unlocks right after doing this final task. |

| Do exactly what Dave Jepson stated however i must warn you that this achievement in glitched. If you finish a level and have not finshed the tengu mission in the level then it will not count. Also if you replay the level then the saved information about the quest overall will be erased. So i suggest after beating the game delete your file and do a whole playthrough just for the tengu missions. |

Level: 2 - Leaving Home Location: At the beginning of the level, as you enter the village, the Tengu will be on your right. Quest: Kill all the samurai on the other side of the broken bridge. Finish: Tengu will spawn to the other side of the bridge beside the animal cages. Reward: Shurikens. Level: 2 - Leaving Home Location: Close to a checkpoint shortly after saving Suzume at the bottom of the Temple stairs. Quest: He wants a Burdock Flower. There is one up the temple stairs between the first and second statues on the right Finish: He will be in the same location. Reward: Flask of Unstable Energy.
Level: 7 - Haunted Forest Location: At the beginning of the level, follow along the left cliff and you will eventaully get to him. Quest: He wants a Spear of Ashida. You should already have one but in case you do not, there is one on the ledge just above him. If you follow the left cliff, it should open up and that should lead you to the Spear of Ashida. Finish: He will be in the same location. Reward: Flask of Strange Brew. Level: 11 - Flooded Valley Location: At the beginning of the level, he will be right in front of the gate/doorway. Quest: He wants you to find his uncle at the Temple. Just go to the Temple and talk to the Tengu there. Finish: When you get back he should be standing right at the edge of the water. Reward: Sturdy Rod. **SUPER IMPORTANT!!! DO NOT REPLAY THIS LEVEL UNTIL YOU HAVE GOTTEN THIS ACHIEVEMENT! Since this game overwrites your playthrough when you replay levels, when you load this level again, the Tengu will not be there anymore and the game will think you did not do the quest and saves that over your first playthrough. Level: 14 - Winter Range Location: At the beginning of the level, he will be on the main path where the split path converge again. Quest: He wants a Tiger Lily. You should have plenty of this by now, if not there is probably one around. I just talked to him because I had a lot. Finish: He will be in the same location. Reward: Cherry Bomb.
And thats that! Achievement should pop as soon as you finish the last quest. |
