Let your partener get into trouble then juts save him/her when she's attacked by an enemy. I think its best to do it on chapter 4-1 with the spiders. Just let one spider jump on him/her than just shoot it and he/she will thank you if you did it correctly. Restart from the last checkpoint if you run out of spiders.
