First off, if you don't know how to do a chain break I would suggest watching this video by one of the game's producers - it explains how to do it while showing you what to look for on the screen (credit to The Pants Party on x360a for putting this in his guide):

Before I start, some advice: if you are an impatient gamer like myself, feel free to use this strategy - it really is the fastest way to pile up chain breaks. If you aren't as impatient as I am and can wait until much later in the game, you are almost certain to get it through regular gameplay as long as you regularly use chain breaks in combat. With that said, on to the solution!

Most other strategies suggested for this achievement have you doing it fairly close to the beginning of the game by fighting Phongs and Mighty Lappers in the fields around Abazet, but I have found an area that will enable you to get this achievement in less time.

The best time to build up chain breaks is right after Rue joins your party and you move to retake Highwind Island. Your party will split into two groups of three and the group you start with includes Crocell, Argo, and Zephie. You begin on the beach and get the "Destroy the Seige Weapons" quest from an Island Guard.

To destroy the four Death Ballistas on the beach, the game will tell you to use Argo's "A" button move to destroy the shield generators that are protecting them - DO NOT LISTEN!

Instead, begin by clearing the initial beach area of enemy soldiers - they will not respawn, so no one will be bothering you as you build up chain breaks. Then using your two preferred characters (I find it fastest with Crocell and Argo), start doing chain breaks on the Death Ballistas while their shields are still up. You will do 1 damage with each hit, and since the Ballistas can take a lot of punishment I was able to get over 300 chain breaks on the first one.

The advantages of this strategy:
- Stationary Targets!
- No need to deal with respawns...there are four Ballistas total on the beach, but you should be able to get all the needed chain breaks on the first two.
- This is further into the game, so you should already have some chain breaks built up from regularly playing the game, so you should need fewer than if you just start farming them right away.

Hope this helps people!
