To be able to play the Professional difficulty, you must first beat it on Veteran. Even if you have unlocked it on the Resident Evil 5 story, you will have to unlock it in LiN.
All unlocked weapons from RE5, including infinite ammo, are not avaliable when playing LiN. You will have to make do with the weapons and ammo found in this new chapter. Every time you play LiN, the weapons you find are different. Sometimes you'll find a shotgun in one playthrough, and then a Rifle the next time.
Some thing to note when playing on Professional:
1) There are more enemies than any other difficulty. Some appear in the first area of the game. 2) It is easier to run away from all enemies then to kill them, you will run out of ammo before you can kill them all. 3) The enemies in the final challenge area will not appear on your GPS/Radar. Be careful when running around corners! 4) There are snakes hidden in crates in the final challenge area ("maze" with cranks) that will drain all you life and need a first aid spray to heal. 5) Wesker will kill you if you don't dodge his two attacks in the final fight. It's either A or X to dodge. 6) If playing in co-op, don't stray too far from each other as you will need to back each other up if one of you gets grabbed by the big baddies.
All up it should take no more than an hour to beat Professional. It is very doable in single player, much easier than the original RE5 story. |

I got this by myself, on the first try, and without firing a single bullet. Just run past everything and don't waste time shooting because it takes more ammo than you will ever find to kill even one enemy.
During the maze, if an enemy blocks a platform with his weapon, lob a flash grenade at his feet. This will disorient him and keep from escaping the trap.
When the fight with Wesker starts just run around the room away from him while keeping an eye on the map to make sure Jill remains close to you. The trick is to let Jill do all the shooting so Wesker will attack her instead of you. The reason for this is when Wesker attacks you it's either X or A to react, where, when he attacks Jill, it's ALWAYS B! As long as you keep Jill close enough and time your reactions carefully, you'll come out without a scratch. |

Note: This was done with a friend, and I am not sure this will work with an AI.
Part 1 - This is from the beginning of the level until the part where you fall down and lose all your weapons. -Run from all enemies, I didn't fight any of them -Generally wait until they swing and then run past them -Third part is kind of hard because there will be 3 guys chasing you at once, but if u die and continue, the ones from the previous part should despawn
Part 2 - The finding cranks part -Just have other player distract while finding the cranks and such (shouldn't differ much from veteran) -Check your corners cause the enemies aren't on the mini map anymore
Part 3 - Wesker fight -HIDE BEHIND A POLE (not even kidding, it works)...Wesker will try to attack you but he can't hit you through the pole -DO NOT SHOOT HIM or else you will activate the fighting scene -Make sure you are always on the opposite side of the pole from him -This method takes longer but is in the end much safer
Just wait this out and eventutally the level will end and the achievement should pop. |

For those who like video guides there is a perfect solution here:
Note: If you skip most of the enemies it could be even faster but for some people could be more dangerous. But remember. If you want to kill Executioner, you will need a lot of ammo. It could be done with a friend in co-op, but while playing alone it is really easier to skip all enemies before the maze area. Although you must kill 4 executioners in the maze area to get the 4 needed pieces. You needn't to be such a hero as guys showed there.
- I think it's better to complete Lost in Nightmares previously on Veteran difficulty alone if you want to do it by yourself on Professional - so you could learn the places where are the Executioners and cranks. Don't learn where are the cranks in the proper colours, becouse they may be different. Only learn their position. - Remember also, that on Professional difficulty Executioners are NOT shown on the map. - Good advice: Use headphones or set the volume higher in order to hear the sound of Executioners. There is especially specific sound when he spots you. - You could kill multiple number of Executioners with one trap but it's recommended to kill one with one trap. - If Executioner use his weapon to block the trap - use your flash granade to stun him so trap will be able to kill him. - After picking up any emplem there is a checkpoint, another when you insert it to their place. Use it wisely and the whole maze will not be a problem.
During the Wesker level you could also run from one pillar to another, but remember to stay close to your partner. Do not also shot at Wesker, becouse the fight will be tougher. I was playing as Chris, Jill (console) was sometimes shoting, but I didn't shot even one bullet. I've helped Jill 3 times with melee and haven't dodged any Wesker attack (there was 1 attack at all). I was running around the room, behind the pillars and after 5 minutes it was done.
