| best way to do it, before you give katey the zombrex...go into the back room of the safe house, there is a ladder up to the roof. Get the sniper rifle, you could have some assault rifles too but you won't need them. Then just use the cars in the middle for cover and take him out one shot at a time, easy |

| After you give Katey the Zombrex, you have the Dead Rising classic Psycho battle. Jed the mechanic uses the combo weapon of the shotgun+pitchfork. I found the best way to damage him was with the sledgehammer. Also, remember there are snacks and orange juice inside, and Jed doesn't tend to follow you inside, so when your low on health, dash inside to heal. The Spikey baseball bat also does some good damage. You get the achievement after you defeat him. |

The best items to have in your inventory, in my opinion are,
1. Beer hat(beer + construction hat) combination weapon, this allows mobile healing. Which due to Jed's strike and shotgun, is truely a God send.
2. Spiked bat(baseball bat + box of nails) This gives high damage with a nice swing to make sure you hit him.
3. Paddlesaw(paddle + chainsaw) This must be carried so would be your starting weapon, it would only be used once, at the start when he's looking for Katey, as he's not focused on you. It gives you time to strike, it's not worth to pick up and restart as it will be knocked out of your hands a lot.
4. Broadsword, This is a fast high damage weapon which you can swing multiple times. What's not to like?
The heavy offence and portable healing make a nice mixture. With enough time the fight will be yours. |

| this guy appears beside the gas station when you go back @ 7:00 pm to give Katey her dose of zombrex. He's really pretty easy to beat with the sniper (found on the roof of the gas station) or the baseball bat with the nails (made at the work bench with a Baseball bat and box of nails). He shouldn't give you much trouble, but if he does, just go back in side the gas station and refill your health and stock up on orange juice ( there is an infinite supply) Jed will not follow you inside and when you go back out his health will still be where you left it. |

This battle snuck up on me after a desperate run back to the safe house. You cannot climb up to the roof after the battle starts. I only had what was immediately at hand on the ground floor, and swiftly defeated Jed with just a nail bat and one orange juice.
Jed will often get stuck in an alcove of cars. Find cover or keep running and you will be able to dodge past a shotgun blast. Then immediately run in for 2 or 3 quick swings with the bat. Jed will start an attack animation, so try to jump straight past him, and the animation will most often miss you, giving you a few more swings from behind. Repeat and retreat back into the gas station if you need a quiet moment to heal up or nab a new weapon. |

After you get the Zombrex from the ambulance at the quarantine zone, go back to the safe house. Once there, go through the convenience store to the back room and up the ladder to reach the roof. At the far end of the roof is a sniper rifle by an air conditioning unit. Go back down the ladder and grab 2 jugs of orange juice off the shelf by the register/counter nearest the entrance to the garage where Katy is. Then go back up the ladder to grab another sniper rifle that has respawned in the same place on the roof.
Now give Katy the Zombrex to start the cutscene/boss battle. Using the cars as cover, take shots at Jed. You don't have to zoom in with your scope, just face him and shoot, but don't forget to keep moving so his shots miss you.
If you miss him, you have another sniper rifle to try again with. 2 snipers rifles are plenty enough ammunition to kill Jed. Your 2 jugs of orange juice are also enough to heal yourself should you be damaged. Orange juice completely refills your health as opposed to various "snacks" that only restore one unit of health.
Just in case you have trouble with him still, there is a sledgehammer up against a stack of cars near the door to the garage as well as whiskey acoss from the very same sledgehammer, should you use up all you orange juice. Good luck! |

The way I did this, yes my first time I did with the guns and it worked but i had to take my sweet time.
im a former player of dead rising 2 so the way I killed him was with the baseball bat w/ nails,its in the room where katy at next to the bench. For health I used painkillers, they make your life bars w/ more resistance(less chance in lossing boxes of health).
You can do the gun thing or the bat soulution whichever fits you best, but the painkillers can give you a boost.
painkillers= whisky+whisky or beer+beer
you can find these at the bar looking place where you find your first 2 survivors{lady with money and the drunky lol}

| The way I unlocked it was very, very easy and the wepeaon new went and there was 2 of them, yes I used the saw blade, throw this when Jed is standing there not coming after you. When you throw it you can quickly retrieve it and there's two saw blade and it makes quite a big impact on his health, so use the saw blade. :D |
