To get this achievement you need to,
Shield 150 incoming attacks
Shield 3 or more power ups with a single shield
Shield 50 incoming close range power ups
Hold on to a shield for 1 lap and win the race
Shielding 150 attacks will come as you progress in the single player. To shield 3 power ups with one shield the best way is to beat khan in his one on one to get the titanium shield mod, this mod makes your shields last longer and are able to take more damage. Get a shield and drive infront of a CPU who has bolts, he will usually fire 3 into you and you will get this. To shield 50 close range power ups the only way i found was to shield just before a shunt hits (or bolt if your lucky), I am not sure if mines or shocks count but you may as well wait until you are close before you activate your shield. To hold onto a shield for one lap you need to have it in your power up bay for a whole lap not just from where you picked it up until you pass that spot again. An easy way is just pick a shield up near the start of the race and never use it and just win the race on easy, that way you won't even need to use the shield. |

A good hint for the shield on 50 incoming close range power ups (which is the most tricky condition to fulfill) :
Activating the shield just before hitting fragmented mines in multiplayer games is very efficient for this. My achievement popped when I used my shield too late while running through a group of fragments (still needed to get 1 more close range) : I got hit but my shield stopped the last fragments, so it counted it as a close range (I hope this wasn't due to lag but it worked).
A lot of players use the fragmented mines ability, so it's pretty easy to find some online. |
