When doing a Heroic Action and running (not jumping) keep shooting an enemy for the chance for them to go airborne. Attack while airborne to bring up the bonus gauge (grey circle with yellow segment and a spinner). Land the spinner in the yellow segment for the first time in real combat (not the tutorial) to land a bonus hit.
