If you're playing as an Assassin, use any/all of the Strike spells (Swift Strike, Burning Strike, Freezing Strike, Stone Strike).
These spells change all gems of one color to purple. (yellow, red, blue, green in the order listed above). Then simply wait for a row/column to be made up of all purple and whatever other color gems and cast the appropriate spell. Cheevo done.
(side note: playing with all four of these spells and Stealth is a wicked Assasin build)
Codster2005: I may want to add that playing against the more difficult enemies that have the massive game boards will make this easier. Getting 8 in a row with a 12x12 board is easier than 8x8. |

I used swift strike with the assassin, though any of the strikes would work perfectly.
I used two controllers and did a local multiplayer match and lines up the bottom row with 2 purple, 2 yellow(or whichever strike you choose). Once I got all my pieces in line I just used my ability.
Seemed easier with the second controller since you have more control of what gems are being moved then facing the computer. |

This was really easy as a sorcerer though you need to be level 50 -- you can earn this achievement through matching 8 action points as well.
Just use the level 50 ability to wipe all mana gems off the board when an action point gem is on every row, first from the bottom. When they drop, all 8 will match.
This is how I earned it. |

This achievement is partially luck based. You will need one of two types of spell: * a spell that replaces all gems of colour X with colour Y, or * a spell that adds X number of Y-coloured gems randomly to the board.
I prefer the "add random gems" spell as it only requires that you have lots of one colour on the board.
So to do this achievement, get enough gems to cast the spell, but wait until there are a lot more unmatched gems of that colour omn the board. Once cast, the gems should make at least one or more 4+ matches, which should give you another go. You can be then recast the spell for another attempt as there is likely to be some gems of your chosen colour left on the board.
It took me about 5 games to finally get an 8 chain, and didn't require much effort or foresight.

The Barbarian spell "enrage" was the easiest way of achieving this for me. Takes a bit of luck but you should get it after a dozen battles or so.
Make sure you have enough blue and yellow mana for several goes before you start casting them mind. |

| My solution is basically the same as Turduken's - use the Assassin's "______ Strike" spells to change the gems to all purple. The extra thing I'd do, though, is combine the Strike spells with the Assassin's "Blackjack" spell, which stuns the opponent for three turns (more if you get 4 & 5 gem combos). That way you get multiple turns in a row to set the board up for the achievement. |

This is a solution for the Barbarian class, but it should work for all classes that can create gems... just replace enrage and needed gems with the skill for your class.
1. create a quick game. 2. choose king godd. 3. save enough red, blue und yellow gems to use enrage 3 or more times. 4. use enrage und hope many red pearls stays in the match. 5. match 8 gems of the same color
king godd is very slow and give you enough time to do the combo, especially with all the extra turns from the x 4 combo. i got the x8 combo after 15 minutes and right before the x8 combo, i saw many red pearls survived on my 8x8 board... most of the times the small combos let most of your red pearls disappear... with a bit luck, many of them don't match and give you a much better chance for the next time you use enrage.
btw i didn't destroyed the 4 blocks, because maybe they fill slots and make the board even smaller and give a higher chance to let appear red pearls above the 2x2 block, but i never counted the created pearls, so this is just a theory, not a confirmed fact.
if you use enrage many times during the main story, maybe you have enough luck to unlock this achievement without boosting... i used enrage until level 40, but never had the luck to unlock this in a match (i only managed it to match 7 gems many times)... so i decided to try it this way and it should also work for you - with a bit patience.
good luck! |
