How to unlock the Master achievement

This is the most time consuming achievement in the game, it is not uncommon to have completed every other achievement and not have a single attribute mastered. You can leave your controller auto battling in a quest area or use a turbo controller to fight easier battles on the boundary plane over and over but this takes upwards of 70-80 hours to master all attributes. Instead understanding the system and performing a few specific moves will save you a lot of time.

To master Fire, Water, Thunder, Earth, Light, Extra and Wind you will need a low level character you have never used (personally I used a level 4 Fyuria). Counter intuitively you gain more attribute experience from casting magic on lower level characters than a higher level one. Simply load your characters with the highest levels in these attributes with skills like status up (extra), Power Up (fire) heal (light) etc. and remove all their other attacks (less time spent scrolling though attacks) The low level elemental weapons will help greatly in this as they have three elemental slots. It is likely Rex or Dyshana (or the other 5th gen characters) will have the highest stats for this but they raise so fast you can use others (for example I used Leonhart for Fire who started on Level 4). Simply go to a low level fight, kill all but one enemy and constantly cast the skills on your low level character, within a couple of hours you will have maxed all these attributes.

The final five attributes are more problematic, they have no status boosting skills and raise faster when used on higher level characters. To cap these you will be facing Chaos Dyshana or Chaos in the extended boundary plane on hard and using them to boost the attributes. (They are the highest level enemies in the game at 999). Defeat the additional bosses and then use the normal boss tactics of leaving a sacrifice and resurrecting him/her. Instead of unleashing a full Ex3 assault simply use the required skills over and over again, move back into position the next move phase, take your one character being KOed by the boss, heal them and repeat. For this I used Rex loaded out with 3-5 General, Power or Rush attacks respectively alongside Dyshana using Dark and Duran using Special attacks (2 each). In 25 turns of hitting Chaos 4-8 times per turn (based on AP and whether or not Rex's genius skill was in effect) a skill will move around 0.5 points at level 9. Thus you can level up a attribute from level 8-10 in around 4 battles (4-5 hours) if solely using it, levelling up 2 or 3 attributes per battles naturally speeds this up. Though this is still a long grind of between 10-20 hours it is much shorter than the 70-80 it takes to auto battle (you also need to be there for auto battles for when a level up occurs or you hit 99 items).

All the TigersJust a personal preference for me, but I find it easier to battle Chaos than Chaos Dyshana. His 6-square radius Eternal Domination EX3 attack is centered on himself, but C-Dyshana's 6-square Catastrophe EX3 attack is centered on her target. It's impossible to survive an enemy EX3 attack, even with maxed health, defense, and magic defense, so if it hits more than one person, you're screwed.

Also, Ellis' ability to target practically anywhere on the field makes rezzing your characters less of a hassle. If you let your characters slip out of formation and let Chaos or C-Dyshana move from their original spot, you're pretty much effed.

eohjayI used a turbo controller to level up the final five attributes. I realize that it took more hours than doing it manually would have - but I was able to leave my xbox on overnight for a few nights without the mind-numbing grinding involved. Basically let it autobattle on a Boundary Plane battle (one of the higher that I felt comfortable leaving my characters to do without dying). I equipped the characters leveling the attributes with only skills pertaining to that particular attribute and let them go at it and (made sure to have a healer in the group for safety).

    InkyPawsI'm finding this very confusing.

I've got a couple of characters with good levels across all attributes (Beatrice, Rex, Dyshana). Could I stick on weapons with varied types, attach all the skill ups I can and leave them as a party of two or three?

Which weapons are best to use?

This is a rather easy one once you get the hang of what the game uses for its calculation.

The truly easiest way to accomplish this is to spread it to all your party.

There is a total of 12 attributes to master. and you can have a party of 6 people. so using one person to master 2-3 of these will maximize your ability to accomplish this.

First off you need to know that different characters will gain different attribute experience. best way to understand this is there skill slots (non weapon) to decide on how they will increase. Best rule of thumb, the more slots for that attribute, the faster it will increase for that character. Using a party with the skill slots of 2 for each is ideal, but most likely you will not be able to accomplish that. (example being lightning for my party)

after you have decided on what party you will use, simply make sure that they use there respected skills, best to acquire this achievement when you plan on beating the boundary plain.

    Best Char's for each stat:(non-hero)
    General:*
    Power:*
    Combo:*
    Special:*
    Fire: Luana
    Water: Yayoi, Plum, Reverie
    Thunder:
    Wind: Silvi
    Earth: Sherufanir, Arbol, Plum
    Dark:Zerva,
    Holy: Ellis, Faina, Ryuryu
    Extra: Vira-Lorr, Dyshana

    * : Too many to list, since these are mostly the first two on every character, and yes even mages can level up there special attribute very fast.

Of course you could bread your hero any way you want, so he could fill the gaps you make based on your party selection. my party was...

Rex (bread for wind *Battlemage* with general starting at 9 and wind at 7)
Dyshana (for extra, and Dark, and Power *the use of ES attacks help with level ups as well*)
Ellis (Full Holy *Earth Nova is great for holy attribute*)
Plum (Water and Earth *great with Rog.3 equiped with +1 for each)
Luana (Fire *Mainly used her for stealing but realized she got another fire slot when I classed)
Beatrice (for Combo, Special, and Lightning *first ES is lighting*)

With that party I covered EVERY attribute, so the need of going back to level up one was nonexistent. I was able to get every attribute to 8+ and have not even passed lvl 300 in the boundary plain.

Also you can leach attribute exp with combo arts. Just an FYI, but some characters can not earn ANY attribute exp. Like Ellis cannot earn ANY Dark.

    -Tip for skill equipment-
Best to do on a new game plus, but have your mages only equip magic, and fighters only equip Weapon skills (every attribute has physical attacks like *Ice Vein*) That way you will never have to increase Str for your mages EVER.

    FYI:
Attribute exp is gained based on AP used, effected by level gap (attribute level, monster level, and your level), and finally effected by hit amount (must land for exp gain). After that gets calculated it gets multiplied by the character gain ratio (like I said above, pick a character that has a high gain ratio, and not one that has a 0)
    *edit*
After much testing I found that you get faster exp for your attributes for a higher level char. so, it doesn't matter what the monster level is, since each monster gives a set amount of base attribute exp. The higher level, and status (such as boss) yield higher base exp. Still not sure if exp is no longer added if you attack after overkill, or if it stops after break, but one of those DOES happen. (hence a char I used last in all battle got 0 exp)

Also pure combos are best for level up (Crimson Edge + Fireball + Fire = Explosion) for a fire pure combo
