Okay, so this is the boss ship in Episode two. You will encounter this directly after holding off the attack on the base(forgot the name). You will have just upgraded your ship. This thing is very large, and has a beam/force pull thing that pulls you into it where it then shoots you with an electric current.

I found that it's slow which is good. I used all my mines and torpedoes on it. I depleted both while also using my machine guns. It should have taken a fair amount of damage at this point. Just stay away as much as possible due to the beam pull deal.

When the enemy ship takes enough damage ... you get attacked by warplanes. Be careful and dodge while firing on them. They will drop special weapon charge up as well as health. If you get very low(they all don't drop health) ... go back to the base you just defended. There is a health pack in the corner by the upgrade door(if you didn't use it during the previous defending mission). You shouldn't have had to because that was fairly easy, but if you did.....* try and enter the bay as it heals your ship.

* I'll try and enter this in a 2nd playthrough to confirm if you can. If someone beats me to it.... post a comment, and I'll update the solution.

But ... I would have been okay even if I had not went for the health as after the planes the Cruizer was defeated in only my next few shots. So, depending on how you do at staying away from the shots and the beam/electric bolts .... it should be the same for you.

** edit ** I went back on mission select to see if you could enter the bay for health, but you couldn't do it. However, I noticed the opposite bay which is where you grab a squad. You can get the health squad which does the trick. I didn't even notice/use the squad bay on my playthrough or I would have mentioned it. That should give some insight to the ease though. I was fine without using it.
